Getting stabbed in the eye in the name of beauty was never something that Juliette planned on getting used to, in fact, in a perfect world she would've never put eyeliner on ever again, but she wanted to look hot tonight. It was a new crowd, she was sure that the new, hot crowd would absolutely love her partner, and she wanted to make sure that everyone knew that Esme had a hot partner in the crowd that was waiting for them the second that they were off stage. It made the eyeliner worth it.
Almost.
"Juliette... My darling, my love, my sweetheart." She came back into herself, looking up at Shelby, who was leaning over her with a very thinly veiled amount of frustration, which was probably fair considering how hard she was fighting this.
"Yes?" She asked, and Shelby leaned back, giving her a fake, tight smile.
Oh?
What?
Hello?
"You know I love you more than life itself, but I will pin you to this damn bed if you don't stop moving." Shelby said, and Juliette chuckled, shaking her head as she did... She had the perfect joke for this, especially after Shelby's confession.
"Well, I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy that a whole lot more than you're letting on." Juliette joked, earning her a look from Shelby as she shook her head, nothing short of thinly veiled hatred in her eyes... Or as close as Shelby ever managed to get to that with her, because she never fully let that one on.
She loved her too much to even pretend.
"You know, if you'd come at me with that about three years ago, then you'd be completely right. But I am over those feelings 99% of the time, and now I just feel nothing short of total annoyance and malice right now... Plus blinding you might humble you, so I may do it either way." She said, and Juliette gasped, shaking her head before Shelby gripped her chin to hold her still.
How else was she supposed to express her dislike of this very dangerous and mean plan? Blinding her would suck, that would mean that she couldn't gaze into the eyes of the person that she loved more than anything else in the world, and being denied the warmth and comfort of Esme's smile would be evil.
"That is so evil of you-." The eyeliner poked the corner of her eye and she gasped, blinking away the sting as she looked up at Shelby with a glare. That was completely unnecessary because she knew that Shelby could so easily have avoided that part of her eye. "Ow." Shelby only shrugged, giving her an amused sort of smirk as she put the cap back on the eyeliner and stepped away.
"Hey... I mean, I did warn you." Her expression softened then, and she held Juliette's face in her hands with a frown, looking at her warmly... She was already forgiven, she didn't have to do all that, now she was just being a little weird. "No, but I'm sorry about that, I really didn't mean to stab you there." She said softly and Juliette snorted, shaking her head - she knew that Shelby was being serious right now, but what kind of a friend would she be if she didn't bully her right now? She kinda had to do that, it was an unspoken rule of being best friends, and she didn't want to ignore unspoken rules.
"I don't know... That sort of seemed premeditated." Juliette said, and Shelby frowned, shaking her head as she ran her fingers through Juliette's hair, getting it out of her hair before she tied it back.
"Dude, if it was premeditated I think we both know that you would already be missing that eye. I don't miss, I'm too good at the things I do, and if I am not good enough to do it, then I simply will not do it." Oh. Well, that was not the response that Juliette had thought that Shelby would have to her bullying, but she was glad that it wasn't just her being sad - she always hated when her joking was taken seriously, then she just felt bad about bringing it up in the first place and she just wanted it to go away.
