She walked out of school to find Oikawa already waiting there for her, "how was practice?" He smiled as she joined him, "it was good." She nodded, "your practice match?"
"I have half an hour before they start." He smirked.
"You're gonna run back after you drop me off?"
"That's the only way I can warm up a little."
"Then I'll walk as slow as possible," she laughed and so did he, "of course you're smart. I missed you so fucking much."
"Don't even slightly get your hopes up. I hate cheaters more than anything else. What do you think of yourselves, really?" Her words pierced him like a knife.
"You can hold it against me for as long as you want to. I'm not going anywhere." Oikawa promised.
"Really?" Her brain was already running.
"Really." He assured her and watched her devilish smile as she narrowed her eyes and went to the grocery store, "I want strawberry milk."
"Oh, you're doing this on purpose, aren't you?" He laughed as he looked at his watch.
"More warmup for you." She smiled. "Run faster~"
"You're going to make me run till my legs fall off."
"Oh... today, you will run for your life." She stepped out of the store with a bigger smile now, "Do you want to take the longer route with me and run faster? Or just drop me off and be on your way in the next five minutes?"
Oikawa's brows went up as his face broke into a smile, knowing fully well the kind of trouble she was putting him through, "HAHA! Oh... fuck." He thought for a second, "looks like I will run for my life today. Let's go on that longer route."
"Aww, let's go then. Shouldn't keep you waiting for long."
"You're the fucking devil."
"I have my ways."
As Oikawa ran back to Fukurodani, his heart was in his mouth trying to get to the practice match on time, but he had the biggest smile on his face when he fully realised the trap she was laying for him to volunteer into.
When he finally reached like he'd run away from a wild animal, Iwaizumi knew he was up to something stupid.
"Are you sure you can play like this, you dumbass?" He asked, "you look like you'll die any minute."
"I can play," Oikawa's smile dropped as the fatigue kicked in, "and if I die any minute, I will die a happy man." He saw Shinzen warming up for their match with Seijoh, "let's crush their spirit a little, for the sake of my sanity."
"Are you running after Miyoko again?" Iwaizumi hadn't seen him that excited in a long time.
"Well..." he stretched his arms after changing into his court shoes, "I'll be running really fast the next few weeks." He was referring to his run back to Fukurodani after dropping her but Iwaizumi knew what he meant.
"You're a lunatic." Iwaizumi rolled his eyes, "go drink some water before I knock you out."
Koutaro was watching Seijoh'e match from a bench in the corner, rolling the ball on his index finger with a frown on his face. He'd gotten a call from Kuroo and he wasn't very happy about what he'd heard.
"We have a match next with Seijoh." Akaashi alerted him and he hummed in response.
"Bokuto san." Akaashi plainly asked.
"What?"
"Are you in a bad mood?" He was trying to assess him for the match. Akaashi was worried if he was already in his emo mode.
"I want to spike a ball in his face."
Akaashi's eyes went wide hearing Koutaro say something like that with a straight face.
"Who are you talking about?"
"Oikawa." He answered before getting up, "volleyball is a sport you look at the sky for, Miyoko taught me that...
...but if you get too cocky, it humbles you just as fast."
Akaashi was stunned to hear something like that from him, "did Miyoko san tell you that too?"
"You're right! Akaaashiiiii, toss everything to me!"
"You know I can't do that, Bokuto san."
"I don't care! I want to spike a ball in his face today!"
"You can't do that either."
"But it'll be an accident!"
"Not if you wilfully do it."

The unhappiest of them all, however, was a certain rooster head who couldn't concentrate on his practice.
"Kuroo, take a break." The coach noticed that he wasn't at his best.
"Fuck." He cursed under his breath as he headed to the bench to clear his head out. It was all starting to get to him. Miyoko had been avoiding him after the phone call and when he saw her leave school, he wanted to run up to her to talk and apologise for behaving the way he did. His legs froze when he saw Oikawa pick her up from school instead; he had a million questions in his head. What's worse is that he could feel his heart break into a million pieces and his airway constrict.
But he knew it was all his fault. If only he had the courage to ask her out when he should've. If only he wasn't so scared to talk to Bokuto and convince him of this. He wanted to punch the life out of Oikawa for even hurting her in the first place. Now he wanted to bury him alive.
But all the games apart, he was truly worried for her. He didn't want her to get into trouble and he certainly didn't want her hurting because of him again. He quickly took his cell phone out and called Bokuto.
"Kou, I know you have your practice match now but this is important."
"Tetsu! What's wrong?"
"Oikawa is around Miyoko again."
"Huh??? Where?!"
"Outside Nekoma." Tetsuro said and heard Bokuto scream into his ears, "GET HER THE FUCK AWAY FROM HIM-"
"They left."
"LEFT FOR WHAT? I'M CALLING MIYOKO!"
"Come on, give her a chance," Kuroo already knew she was up to something.
"She wouldn't be entertaining Oikawa unless she's scheming. Leave her be."
