"so you not going?" my mama asked me and i shrugged my shoulders. we was talking about me going to college. whole time i was in highschool, i was saying i was going to college but now it's like i don't wanna go.
"what you mean you don't know? you talked about it all the time. what's making you be so indecisive?" she asked.
"honestly mama, i don't know. like really. i wanna be a realtor like i been saying since i been in 7th grade but i graduated 3 months ago and i'm not doing nothing with my life" i told her.
"wait. ima be ah bum?!" i yelled. she looked at me weird and hit my arm.
"yo daddy in there sleep so be quiet and girl what? why would you be ah bum?" she asked me.
"because i graduated months ago and i haven't figure nothing out with my life yet. plus i'm still living with my mama and daddy" i said and she jerked her head back on the last part.
"girl that was 3 months ago. it's a lot of kids that don't leave they mama house and officially start doing things on they own until a later. shit maybe even longer than that and it's nothing wrong with it. you not gone be a bum, treasure. you still figuring out what you wanna do with your life and you have plenty of time" she told me and i nodded. the doorbell rung so my mama got up and answered the door.
"hey family!" my uncle rell said. i got up and hugged him. him, auntie ray, and my cousins barely come over because everybody be so busy.
"youn see me? that's cool, treasure" my auntie ray said. i rolled my eyes and hugged her too.
"don't be so loud. jah in there sleep for his night shift" my mama told them. my cousin dontai and da'lylah walked in behind them. i smiled and hugged da'lylah.
"i missed you girl!" i said, excitedly. da'lylah was 10. she was they last child. well i hope so.
"whatchu been up to?" i asked her as we walked upstairs.
"tai! heim in his room" i said from the top of the stairs. i walked in my room and closed the door.
"i been going to school" she told me and i nodded.
"how you like it? anybody bothering or bullying you?" i asked.
"i like it. i just be ready to go home and get on my ipad and nope. my daddy told me if somebody bothering or bullying me slap them dead in they shit" she said and my jaw dropped.
"oh umm ok. that do sound like yo daddy" i said as she got on her ipad. my phone started ringing so i picked it up and seen it was my bestfriend, latia.
"hey bitch! i'm here!" she said as she turned the camera around and showed me her dorm. i smiled as she gave me a room tour.
"it's looks nice. can't believe you finish decorating in one day" i said and she laughed.
