"Look, if I wanted to listen to your obnoxious voice I'd come to your room," I spat, chucking the decorative pillow at Draco's chest.

He plopped down at the foot of my bed, stretching his legs out, "that would involve you getting out of bed."

I scoffed then pushed his legs off the side of the bed. He quickly put them right back up.

"It's been weeks, and you've left this room a total of 2 times," Draco continued, eyeing the food wrapper in my bed with disgust.

I sat up and leaned my back against the headboard, "I've got everything I need in here."

They had given me a bedroom that included a bathroom, an enormous bookshelf, a balcony, and free access to their house elf. It was actually quite nice, peaceful even.

Draco's father rarely left his study, when I did leave the room he was locked away in there. Narcissa introduced herself when I first got here, but other than that it's been quiet.

Which only made me more uneasy.

It was too simple.

Maybe I am just paranoid.

"There's a lake outside, a garden, an area dedicated for quidditch. We have a bloody quidditch pitch and you won't go near any of it." He tossed the empty wrapper in my direction. "I'm having friends over tonight, don't be the weird girl who no one sees."

"I agreed to 3 gatherings, would this count as one of them?" when he shook his head I shrugged, "welp I think I'll stay right here then."

I had been here for just about three weeks, they were uneventful and repetitive.

After the first week, I adjusted to the environment. Sure, it was isolating at times, but I didn't mind. Their house elf, Mippy, was very kind to me. She brought food three times a day like clockwork, she didn't utter a word when the plates were untouched, she took them and brought more the next meal.

She stopped bringing me letters after I left them all on the desk, still sealed. Whether she was tossing them herself, or if I just stopped receiving them, I had no clue.

I did, however, get my hands on a Daily Prophet article.

I was right about Rita covering the third task. It was the last article she published, but it is by far the most damaging. She painted Harry and I as dangerous maniacs desperate to reignite our fame.

The love triangle theory only fed into this.

She said I had intentionally gotten Cedric killed, and taken out of the picture, then me and Harry concocted this wild tale of Voldemort's return to cover it up.

I stopped reading the papers after that.

"Did you er- how are you doing?" Draco said suddenly, instantly looking away from me.

I made a sound that could almost be considered a laugh, "Malfoy, you've gone soft."

He rolled his eyes and stood, "well your pacing in the middle of the night is keeping the whole house up."
