In all the major Pokémon games (except for Legends Arceus), there has been a criminal organization or an "evil team" that the protagonist encounters throughout the main story and eventually has to take down.
Now of course some of these groups such as Team Skull, Team Yell, and Team Star aren't actually evil but, they are still antagonists that the player has to face off against multiple times throughout their respective game, so I will be including them in my rankings of all the villain teams.
My list will only be including teams from the main series games as well as Colosseum and XD : Gale of Darkness because I haven't really played any of the spinoffs like Pokémon Ranger or Mystery Dungeon.
Also, this ranking is simply my opinion, so feel free to disagree with me on things (just don't be rude or anything like that) and maybe consider leaving your own ranking in the comments.
With all the introductory stuff out of the way though, let the ranking begin!
#12 - Macro Cosmos
Some of you reading this may be thinking : Beedrill, who the hell is Macro Cosmos?
Honestly, I couldn't blame you for not remembering them since they pretty much have zero build up or presence in the set of games they come from.
Macro Cosmos is the company belonging to Chairman Rose in Sword and Shield.
Now, while I enjoy these pair of games more than others, even I have to admit how bad the end game plot is.
While Chairman Rose and his secretary Oleana do appear at several points throughout the main story, Macro Cosmos as a whole literally doesn't come up until all the story stuff crammed in at the very last minute, which does nothing but get in the way of what people actually care about, that being the champion fight with Leon.
Rose's big plan is to revive Eternatus, the pokémon who almost destroyed the Galar Region in the distant past, in order to solve an energy crisis that won't happen for another thousand years.
How did he come to think that using the pokémon which brought about an event called The Darkest Day would be a good idea?!
I can kind of understand Rose's action since trying to eliminate a future problem before it becomes one instead of leaving it for Galar's later generations to deal with is a responsible thing to do, but a millennium is a really long time from now, and Rose makes it seem more urgent than it really is.
Plus, using the legendary pokémon that nearly brought an end to the Galar Region to save it seems a little counterintuitive.
You may be wondering why I'm talking about Rose instead of Macro Cosmos as a whole, and that's because the organization has nothing to talk about due to having no story presence prior to when they show up, and even then there's barely anything for me to go over.
Even Team Yell has had a constant presence since the beginning, and they're more of an occasional nuisance than an actual threat.
Many players consider Rose and Macro Cosmos one of if not the worst evil organization in the franchise, and while I'll always defend Sword and Shield from the haters, I agree with them on that point at least.
Speaking of Team Yell....
#11 - Team Yell
Frankly, Team Yell is just a carbon copy of Team Skull but without the same comedic value or the honor of having ya boi Guzma as their leader.
