"The clouds veiled the cheerful night,
Wooing her off her might,
Providence had some other plans,
Was she that easy to be left sans?" _Me ♡"Mom...Where's Dad?"
The petite little kid, framed a question within his bubbly life, devoid of fairytale.
That lone question, she dreaded.
Those hazel-brown eyes, and that life-smittening smile. Everthing about him resembled Randhir. Those soft chocolate brown tresses, and that soft voice. Why are you so much like him, baby? :')Caressing his cheek, she let out a vehement sigh.
"Saan, Why don't you sleep now? It's quite late.", She chipped, letting out a smothering kiss on his baby cheeks.
"Mom.. Why do you call me Saan?"
The little kid, sat up, with his quivering head resting upon his mother's lap."That's your name, Baby."
She smiled sadly, trying to hold back the voluminous pearls that threatened to fall off any moment."That day they asked me the meaning of my name. I couldn't say. Mom, they made fun."
He sniffed back his tears, trembling at the memories of a day imprinted in his mind."Saan hasn't got any meaning, baby."
She patted her little kid, reminiscing over those days with Randhir."Not Saan. They asked me the meaning of "Adhyaan". I couldn't say."
He tried to stifle his cries, but that didn't go unnoticed by his mother."Adhyaan. ♡"
She smiled, softly smothering him to sleep. She couldn't dare to revert back at his question. She didn't want her, no their son to get wise to their tremulous past, not until he was big enough to handle the fits of pain that were bound to surface with her past.
"Adhyaan is the amalgamation of your parents' names, Baby. R'an''dh'ir and S'a''an''y'ukta."
She silently remorsed through her heart, as the twinge of severance bore it hollow.****************************
She remembered that night, that dusked her life into swarthiness.
That night they made love.
And that night, when Randhir left her forever.
Little did he know that he left his trace with her, that emerged to be their indispensable token of love, Adhyaan. ♡And four years have buried its corpse down the time, and she has been dreading this question from his son since then.
She wondered if Randhir ever missed her the way she did.
She wondered if he had ever loved her the way she did.Was their love so weak and vulnerable that a mere quivering wave from the past, buried shallow their bright future?
She sniffed in those disobedient coughs that threatened to fall out.
Adhyaan was asleep. And once he wakes up, he'll surround her with more such questions. And unfortunately she wouldn't have any way to evade those.Opening the drawer, she took out the picture. The picture that marred her life, not once, but twice.
Caressing that smiling face, she swirled to look at the mirror, the only difference that pained her was that over the years, she had forgotten to smile. Over the years she had forgotten to live.
