Y/N's POV:

Y/N stared at her calendar, her fingers lightly grazing over the dates as she prepared for school. It was Friday—the day Saito had asked her to meet him behind the school gym under the sakura tree. The thought of it made her sigh. She knew that it was going to be another confession, another rejection. It was becoming a routine she had grown accustomed to, yet this time, something felt different.

As she walked into her classroom and settled into her seat, Y/N noticed a small note tucked inside her desk drawer. She unfolded it and immediately recognized Saito's handwriting. The note was a simple reminder, asking her to meet him during lunch. Y/N sighed again, a familiar heaviness in her chest.

"Why does this keep happening?" she thought to herself as she tucked the note into her bag.

During lunch, she was supposed to meet Bokuto and the rest of the volleyball team. She had been looking forward to it, especially after the events of the past week. Bokuto's presence had a way of easing her worries, making her feel less alone. But she couldn't ignore the obligation to meet Saito, even if the thought of it made her hesitate.

"What should I do? Do I really have to go?" she wondered, standing outside her classroom, debating whether to head to the gym or join her friends for lunch. "I guess... I should just get it over with."

With a resigned sigh, she turned toward the gym, her heart heavy with anticipation. As she rounded the corner, she saw Saito already waiting beneath the sakura tree, his expression serious and determined. They exchanged greetings, and Y/N braced herself for what was to come.

Saito's voice was steady as he began his confession. He told her how he had admired her from afar, how he found her cool demeanor intriguing, and how he couldn't stop thinking about her. His words were heartfelt, but Y/N felt a growing sense of discomfort. She had heard similar confessions before, yet this time, her mind wasn't focused on the boy in front of her.

Instead, her thoughts drifted to Bokuto.

"Why am I thinking about him now?" she wondered, feeling a sudden pang of confusion. "Could it be... do I...?"

The realization hit her like a wave, catching her off guard. Could she actually have feelings for Bokuto? The thought was both surprising and strangely comforting, but before she could fully process it, Saito called her name, snapping her back to reality.

"Y/N?"

She blinked, returning her attention to the boy standing before her. His eyes were filled with hope, and Y/N felt a twinge of guilt. She took a deep breath, steadying herself before speaking.

"I'm sorry, Saito-san," she began, her voice calm but firm. "I appreciate your feelings, but... I don't feel the same way."

Silence hung in the air as her words sank in. Saito's expression faltered, the hope in his eyes dimming as the weight of her rejection settled in. Y/N bowed politely, offering him a sincere apology before turning to leave. As she walked away, she could feel the tension easing, replaced by a different kind of confusion—one that centered around her own emotions.

"Why did I think of Bokuto?" she mused, her steps slow as she made her way back to class. "Could it be... that I like him?"

The thought lingered in her mind, refusing to leave her alone. She had always seen Bokuto as a friend, a teammate, someone she respected and enjoyed spending time with. But the idea that her feelings could be something more was both startling and... strangely exhilarating.

As she walked through the empty hallways, lost in her thoughts, Y/N was unaware that she was being watched.

Up on the rooftop, the entire volleyball team had been observing the scene unfold. Bokuto, in particular, had been glued to the edge, his heart pounding in his chest as he anxiously watched Y/N's every move. When he saw her bow and walk away, leaving Saito standing there alone, his heart soared.

"She rejected him," he whispered, a smile breaking across his face as relief flooded through him.

The rest of the team exchanged knowing glances, a wave of relief washing over them as well. Konoha nudged Bokuto with a grin. "Looks like our captain's got some competition, but it seems like he's still in the game."

Bokuto, unable to contain his joy, turned to his teammates with a beaming smile. "She said no... She actually said no!"

Akaashi gave a small, approving nod, happy to see Bokuto's spirits lifted. "Seems like she has other things on her mind."

Bokuto's blush returned, but this time, it was accompanied by a burst of confidence. "Yeah... maybe she does."

The team burst into light-hearted teasing, poking fun at Bokuto's obvious feelings for Y/N, but also encouraging him to take the next step. Bokuto, still on cloud nine from the events that had just transpired, laughed along with them, already thinking of ways to spend more time with Y/N.

Meanwhile, Y/N returned to her class, still deep in thought about the day's events. Her mind was a whirlwind of emotions, but one thing was becoming clear—her feelings for Bokuto were more complicated than she had ever realized.
