The weekend arrived, and Y/N found herself alone at home. Her father had called earlier, informing her that he wouldn't be back for another week due to his team's tournament. Y/N accepted this with a level-headed attitude. Her brother, who was away for his own tournament, kept in touch via FaceTime to check on her. The house was peaceful, yet sometimes Y/N felt the pangs of loneliness.

At school, Y/N faced an unexpected situation. Saito had been lingering around her more often, and today, he stood in her classroom, drawing the curious glances of some classmates. A few students whispered among themselves, others looked on with interest, and some ignored the scene altogether. Y/N, ever the polite individual, didn't want to be rude, even if she felt uncomfortable.

Bokuto, who had noticed Saito's increased presence around Y/N, grew increasingly uneasy. His usual cheerful demeanor began to wane as he worried about Y/N's safety due to unsettling rumors about Saito. His concern deepened with each sighting of Saito near her.

One day, while Y/N was delayed at the gym due to an extra class, Bokuto's behavior took a noticeable turn. The team, sensing something was off, gathered around during a break. Akaashi was the first to approach Bokuto.

"Hey, Bokuto-san, you seem a bit off today," Akaashi remarked, concern evident in his tone.

Bokuto sighed deeply. "It's this guy, Saito. He's been hanging around Y/N a lot lately. I've heard some pretty nasty rumors about him, and I can't shake off this feeling that something might be wrong."

Akaashi nodded thoughtfully. "I've noticed it too. It's definitely concerning. We should keep an eye on it."

Kaori and Yukie, who had been observing from the sidelines, nodded in agreement. They shared their own concerns about Saito and were relieved that Bokuto and Akaashi were taking the situation seriously.

As if on cue, Y/N entered the gym, causing the group to disperse quickly. Bokuto's demeanor shifted back to his usual self, but a hint of worry remained in his eyes. The team, sensing the change, acted as though nothing had happened, while Y/N remained composed, though she noticed Bokuto's odd behavior.

During practice, Y/N couldn't help but notice Bokuto's unusual seriousness. She decided to approach him after the session.

"Bokuto, you've been acting different lately. Is everything okay?" Y/N asked, her voice laced with concern.

Bokuto tried to put on a cheerful face. "Oh, I'm fine. Just had a lot on my mind, that's all."

Y/N looked at him, clearly unconvinced. "If you say so. But you know, if you need to talk, I'm here."

A silence fell between them. Y/N broke the silence, surprising both Bokuto and the rest of the team. "If you're free, you could come over to my house tonight. My father and brother are away, and it might be nice to have some company."

Bokuto's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? I'd love that! Thanks, Y/N."

The rest of the team, who had been eavesdropping on the conversation, were taken aback. They exchanged glances, trying to suppress their excitement. Kaori and Yukie exchanged knowing smirks as the unexpected invitation played out.

Later that evening, Y/N and Bokuto arrived at her home. Y/N busied herself preparing dinner while Bokuto took a quick shower. In the kitchen, Y/N facepalmed herself, realizing she had invited Bokuto over on a whim. Despite her initial nervousness, she found herself genuinely enjoying his presence.

As Y/N cooked, she sent a quick text to her father. Her father responded with a brief acknowledgment, and her brother, upon hearing the news, teased her through the screen.

"Inviting Bokuto over, huh? That's unusual for you, Y/N. What's going on?" her brother teased.

Y/N rolled her eyes, a smile tugging at her lips. "I just thought it'd be nice to have some company. Plus, it gets a bit lonely here without Dad and you."

Once dinner was ready, Y/N and Bokuto sat down at the table. The conversation was light and pleasant, filled with laughter and shared stories. After dinner, they decided to watch a movie in the living room. Y/N set up the couch for herself, while Bokuto made a makeshift bed on the floor with blankets and cushions.

As they watched the movie, Bokuto glanced over at Y/N. "Hey, Y/N, do you have any other hobbies besides volleyball?"

Y/N chuckled. "Not really. I spend most of my time either studying or helping out with the team. What about you?"

Bokuto grinned. "Volleyball is pretty much my life. But I do enjoy playing video games sometimes. Maybe we can play a game together sometime?"

Y/N smiled. "Sure, that sounds fun."

After the movie, Y/N led Bokuto to a room where she and her brother kept their achievements and mementos. They shared stories about their past accomplishments and laughed about old memories.

Bokuto suddenly asked, "Hey, Y/N, what would you do if someone liked you?"

Y/N paused, caught off guard by the question. "It would depend on who it is. Why do you ask?"

Bokuto scratched his head, looking a bit sheepish. "Just curious, I guess."

A silence fell between them, and Y/N decided to break it. "Thank you for coming over tonight, Bokuto. I've been feeling a bit lonely, and it's nice to have someone here."

Bokuto's face softened. "I'm glad I could be here for you."

As Y/N drifted off to sleep on the couch, Bokuto lay on the floor, his thoughts racing. He couldn't shake the realization that he had deeper feelings for Y/N.

Bokuto's POV:

Spending time with Y/N tonight has made me realize just how much I care about her. I think I might have feelings for her. It feels... different. I didn't expect this, but I'm glad. Maybe, just maybe, this is the start of something special.

As the night wore on, Y/N and Bokuto each contemplated their emotions and the evolving dynamic between them. Their bond was growing stronger with each shared moment, and the journey ahead promised new challenges and discoveries.
