Julie

The boys and I are relaxing in the studio on a Sunday morning after a gig. All three of them are sprawled across each other; Luke scribbling in his journal and shouting out lyrics for my opinion on, Reggie texting Flynn, and Alex reading a book with a single AirPod in.

Reggie and Alex have adapted to technology where as Luke, not so much. He still insists to write on paper even though he can back all his lyrics up on his phone.

I'm perched on my piano messing around with some keys. Out of pure boredom, I begin to play the intro to Sliver Springs by Fleetwood Mac.

My mom and I would sing this song together all the time to the point where I know the piano part by heart. She used to brag about being at their performance in May of 97, which is now their most famous performance.

I stop playing just before Stevie's vocals would come in.

"You can be my sliver spring" Reggie sings.

Alex stifles a laugh at how off key Reggie was, due to a lack of trying.

"Jules you know that song?" Luke looks up from his notebook.

"Yeah me and my mom used to sing it all the time" I explain, choosing to smile at the memory of my mom and I before pushing it back to focus on the conversation.

"That's awesome. Stevie's a goddess" Alex adds.

"So you know the classic stuff then?" Luke continues.

"I was raised on everything but classic rock and punk has always been my mom's thing and that got passed down to me"

"That's so cool" Luke smiles like he just won the lottery. God, I love that smile.

"Alex was the classic rock fan of the four of us. Reggie liked country, Bobby was a metal head, and I liked punk." He lowers his voice a bit. "But Alex's favorite artist was secretly Madonna"

"DUDE I CAN HEAR YOU" Alex spits back sarcastically.

Luke rolls his eyes with enough attitude he could beat a 7 year old girl.

"What's your favorite band" I ask.

"Green Day. Man they were so cool. Billie always talked about making it big. He even co write a song with me. Man I wonder where he is now." Luke ponders.

I stare at the boy in front of me in disbelief. He's talking about THE Billie Joe Armstrong like they're childhood friends or something. And even the THOUGHT of being able to write with him.

"You mean Billie Joe Armstrong?" I gape at him.

"Wait you know is him?" He asks nonchalantly.

"Do I- WHAT? Green Day is like one of the biggest bands EVER Luke. Aside from Trevor Wilson, they're who introduced me to rock!"

"Like how big?" He replies.

"Like 85 million sales worldwide, one gold album, 5 platinum, and one diamond" All three of their heads whip in my direction so fast they could have gotten whiplash.

"What the fuck" Alex's jaw drops.

"Dude that's so awesome!" Luke shouts.

"Do you guys want to hear some of their newer stuff?" I ask, standing up to get my laptop from the table.

"Uh duh" Reggie states.

I open my Spotify and open up to American Idiot to show them.

"So I'll warn you this can get a bit in offensive but it's called American Idiot" I press play.

I stay quiet during the song, letting the boys soak in the music. I watch their eyes widen during the second verse and giggle to myself a bit.

"Wow" Luke says after the song ends.

"That was fucking awesome" Alex complements.

"Wait do you guys still remember Basket Case?" Reggie asks.

Alex thinks for a second before nodding his head slowly, as opposed to the way Luke is practically jumping up and down in excitement.

I remember my childhood crush on Billie Joe Armstrong and get a wicked idea in my head.

"Do you think you guys could play it?" I smile at Luke.

The three of them grab their instruments and set everything up in record time.

Luke starts the playing and locks eyes with me as he begins to sing.

I'm lucky I'm sitting because the rasp in his voice is making the blood rush to my head.

He doesn't break the eye contact until the very end of the song, even coming next to me playing guitar solos on his knees.

Forgetting everyone else in the room, the second Luke swings his guitar around his back I pull him by the strap into a kiss.

I loose myself in the way his lips are smashing against mine with the same fiery passion as mine and his rough hands firmly grip the exposed skin between my cropped shirt and jeans, pulling me even closer to him.

It isn't until I moan into and his mouth as his hands travel a little closer to my ass, his pinkie hooking in between belt and jeans, my dad clears his throat from behind us alerting us of his presence.

Alex and Reggie look slightly frightened when we break apart, but they don't say anything.

"That sounded great boys" he smiles, "Carlos and I are heading to his game and we wanted to see if anyone wanted to join"

"Me!" Reggie jumps up.

"I have a date" Alex answers.

"Alright kids, be safe" he waves goodbye, not without shooting Luke a warning look.

The next day when I come home from school, there's a box of condoms on my nightstand with a note reading "I trust you".

The started as a little music journey but my brain toon it other places.

I've have an insane obsession with Green Day lately and I just thought it'd be appropriate.

QOTC: What's your favorite Green Day song?

Mine is either Jesus of Suburbia of Good Riddance for memory sake.
