Seeing the figure who stood a few miles away from her, Reva's heart skipped a beat, and her entire world momentarily froze. Her legs felt as though they were encased in concrete, making each step forward a monumental effort, while her jaw hung open in shock.

"Luci?" she murmured, her voice barely more than a whisper.

Gradually, her legs regained their strength, and she began to run towards him. Tears welled up in her eyes, blurring her vision, but she pressed on. She had been waiting for this moment for what felt like an eternity.

The distance between them closed rapidly, and the moment she reached him, Reva threw herself into his arms. The tears that had threatened to spill overflowed freely now as she buried her face in his chest.

"Stop crying, Red. I don't want to keep seeing those tears" Lucien said with a tender and comforting voice, as he wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.

"You came back" Reva managed to say.

"Yes, Love. I told you I would always be alright" he replied, a soft smile playing on his lips as he gazed down at her.

He lowered himself slightly, capturing her tears with a gentle kiss before moving in for a deeper kiss on her lips that left Reva's heart racing. The ache she had carried for so long seemed to dissipate in that moment, and she felt whole again, all because of him, her one true mate.

"Did I make you wait too long?" Lucien asked, his eyes filled with concern, and Reva nodded, unable to speak as emotions overwhelmed her.

"I'm sorry" he apologized, planting a kiss on her head.

"Don't apologize. I'm ready to wait a thousand years if it means you would return" Reva said devotedly.

Lucien's smile deepened, and he held her even closer, as if afraid that she might disappear if he let go. Reva's gaze got drawn to something on his neck, a dark stain that sent a shiver of worry down her spine.

"Is that blood?!" she exclaimed, her concern instantly shifting to alarm.

"Don't worry, it's not mine" he reassured her.

"That's reassuring" Reva said with a teasing smile, her tone lightening as relief washed over her.

"Sweet!" she added, her tongue darting out to taste the blood on his neck.

"I know something that tastes better" Lucien whispered into her ear.

"What?" she asked.

"You!" he replied and she blushed.

"Your wings changed" Reva observed, her gaze fixed on Lucien's back.

It was then that she noticed the subtle transformation - his once gold wings had taken on a deep, mysterious shade of black.

"Yes" Lucien admitted. "I wanted a change of color."

Reva gasped softly as she reached out, her fingers barely grazing the inky feathers. She had always admired his wings and marveled at their pristine beauty, and now, this change left her breathless.

"I love them" she muttered with a genuine smile.

A warmth spread through Lucien's chest as he looked at Reva, his heart swelling with affection. He extended his wings further, displaying their new hue in all it's glory.

"I'm glad you do" he replied, a soft chuckle escaping his lips.

Reva giggled as he scooped her up in a bridal carry, and in the blink of an eye, they vanished from their spot, reappearing inside their treehouse. Waiting for them in the bathroom was a large bathtub filled with fragrant flower petals.
