As Marjorie and Reece had their moment on the roof, Mia packed them up to leave. Come on, sweetheart. They will be fine without us now. Let's go home. They hadn't been cohabitating long and it was still a bit weird to say they were going home, but for Mia the idea of home was weird anyway. The closest thing she ever had to one was Reece and Autumn and she had burned that to the ground a long time ago.

In the time since she and Reece came back to town things had improved a bit with him, but Autumn still blamed her on most of what had happened the last couple of decades. Mia didn't really blame her.

As they pulled in the drive, she noticed the paper stuck to the door. She figured it was an advertisement. It was from the DCI in charge of the investigation into Roger and Janice's murders. Mia saw the look of worry on her sweetheart's face. "It's okay, Char, they probably just want to talk to you because you were With Reece the only day he left the hospital."

She wanted to believe that Mia was right that that was all it was, but she couldn't fight the heaviness in her chest as she dialed the number and was prompted to leave a message. She should have known no one would be in this time of the evening. She left a message with her number and went inside with Mia.

As they lay in bed, Mia tried hard to distract her, but Char just couldn't get into it and ended up rolling over. She wondered if she hadn't would that be the last chance they got. What if she was arrested tomorrow. She knew Mia would fight for her and Marjorie and Reece, but would anyone else care? Would Autumn fight the way she had to get Reece released. After the last several weeks she doubted it. Even before then, she and Autumn hadn't been friends.

She thought about Sorscha. They had always been fond of one another, but she seemed not herself. Even if she could help would she?

Charlotte decided to shoot her a text so she was aware of what might be happening.

"Sorscha, I might need your help tomorrow. I received a notice from the DCI. They want to speak to me."

It wasn't long after she hit send that she received two words in reply.

"Say nothing."
