Friend Issues... Again

The sun shone through the green leaves of the overhanging trees.
A small light wind walked through the large trunks of wood and open space of the jungle.

The ruthless storm from the night before had passed, luckily not damaging any of the forest while it was active.
However, it did make a lot of the ground moist and a little muddy for the most part though it dried up a few hours later.

Daniel sat on the soft lush ground in the middle of the Leafsilk kingdom, watching other dragons wander about in their daily lives.

Now and then he got a few odd and curious glances from Leafwings and Silkwings who hadn't seen his tribe before.

However, this only consisted of the dragons who were overtaken by the Othermind since the rest of them migrated to Phyrria seeking asylum, and as such have already seen Phyrrian dragons.

Daniel smiled as a few rays of sunlight struck his wings, back, and the left of his face which gave him a warm happy feeling.

It had been only yesterday that he and Blue were stranded in Wasp Hive, though it felt like a lot longer than that.

'Probably because it's been so long since I've had a break from this whole ordeal...'
He thought.

Daniel had been on the run for a while now, barely catching a break at all.
Although his friends did manage to rest for a bit during the last day or so, he didn't.

As part of Daniel's agreement with Io, he'd helped with the construction of a lot of the buildings as well as transporting building materials between different sites.

Not only was this exhausting, but he didn't even have a good night's rest the night before since he couldn't fall asleep until late and as such only got a few hours of sleep.
And on top of all of that last night he went on a deadly and very tiring mission with Blue so it wasn't like he got much rest that night either.

However, on the bright side, Daniel did take a nap before leaving and got some more rest when Jewel was treating his wing so he wasn't tired.

He also got his bag back so all of his belongings were now safely kept around his neck as they should be.

Daniel smiled, a nice relaxing day for once would do him well, especially after the events of the night before...
Nonetheless, Daniel shook his head to rid of the memory and looked down at his now fully healed wing.

A part of him was happy that he could fly again, but another also knew the consequences that came with it... And as such couldn't help but have a slightly bad feeling in his stomach.
'Then again... The feeling is common at this point... Which isn't a good thing, but it is what it is'

Daniel sighed deeply as he heard the faint sounds of rustling leaves high up in the treetops.
He looked down and noticed a few passers-by whom he worked with the other day.
He greeted them with a cheery smile and they responded with one of their own, silently thanking him for his help before continuing out of sight.

For the first time in a long while Daniel was completely relaxed, with no worrying dangers to look out for, no need to always be ready for a fight, it was just him at ease for once.

Daniel closed his eyes and placed his head down on the grass.
It felt like a cold pillow with a strong natural scent which he realised would make a great napping spot if it wasn't for the fact he wasn't tired at all.

A few moments later Daniel opened his eyes again to look up at the trees and clouds.
Instead, he was met with a pair of eyes hidden behind spectacles, staring down directly into his soul.
