Jimin sat on a stool in the kitchen, watching Jungkook as he helped pack up the first aid kit. The remnants of their earlier task, treating Yoongi’s wounds from the brutal fight with Hoseok, were scattered around them—bloodied cotton swabs, antiseptic wipes, and gauze strips. Jungkook carefully threw away the bloody cottons, his expression focused and serious.
Jimin let out a weary sigh, running a hand through his hair. “Thanks, Jungkook,” he said softly as Jungkook finished up, placing the first aid kit back into one of the drawers.
Jungkook nodded, leaning against the counter. “No problem, hyung.” He noticed the distant look in Jimin’s eyes and chuckled lightly, trying to ease the tension. “What’s on your mind?”
Jimin smiled faintly, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Just... everything, really. The way we’re trapped here, the way we’re all starting to fall apart. It’s all just so stressful.”
Jungkook nodded in understanding, but his lips curled into a small smile. “Well, at least you have someone to rely on, right?” he said, a hint of teasing in his voice.
Jimin looked at him curiously. “What do you mean?”
Jungkook grinned, his eyes twinkling. “I’ve noticed you and Tae. You guys seem a lot closer these days.”
A blush crept up Jimin’s cheeks, and he laughed softly. “Is it that obvious?”
Jungkook nodded, leaning in a little closer. “Yeah, it is.”
Jimin sighed, tapping his fingers on the counter as he admitted, “We’re dating now.”
Jungkook smiled at the news, but there was a hint of something else in his eyes—something Jimin couldn’t quite place. It was subtle, but it was there. The smile didn’t fully reach Jungkook’s eyes.
Jimin noticed the shift and tilted his head slightly, concerned. “What’s the matter, Kookie?”
Jungkook hesitated, glancing around the empty kitchen to make sure they were alone. Then, with a gloomy look, he leaned in closer to Jimin and whispered, “I... I have a crush on Taehyung.”
Jimin’s eyes widened in surprise, and he couldn’t help the giggle that escaped his lips. “You do? Oh, Kookie, you should tell him!”
But Jungkook shook his head, his expression growing even more somber. “I can’t, hyung. Taehyung doesn’t like me that way. I’m pretty sure he’s in love with someone else.”
Jimin furrowed his brows in confusion, his heart aching for the younger boy. “Who?”
Jungkook shrugged, letting out a sad sigh. “I don’t know. But it’s definitely not me.”
Jimin frowned, feeling a wave of sympathy wash over him. Without thinking, he pulled Jungkook into a comforting hug. “He’ll see what he’s missing soon enough, Kookie. You’re amazing, and he’ll realize that.”
Jungkook nodded against Jimin’s shoulder, his voice muffled. “Thanks, Jimin. You’re a really good friend.”
Jimin smiled warmly and hugged Jungkook tighter, holding him close as they both took comfort in the shared embrace.
