This is my official apology for the prank I pulled last chapter... although you're about to see it wasn't actually a prank... IM KIDDING. I'll stop now! 🤭🦔
The minute Cassidy was underneath the stage, she broke down into tears. The overwhelming amount of happiness she was feeling made it difficult to hold them in. She absolutely burst with emotion.
She just curled up sobbing in place. The stage crew surrounding her probably thought she was crazy but she truly didn't care. That performance was everything she'd ever needed. There was no use trying to hold in the tears, it would be overbearing.
A gentle hand on her back pulled her attention back into the real world. Cassidy looked up from the ground finding Gracie giving her a warm smile, and holding out a hand to hoist her up.
The brunette accepted it gratefully, allowing Gracie to pull her off of the ground.
"Are you okay?," the short-haired woman asked, concern etched on her features.
Cassidy nodded, however she couldn't stop another sob from leaving her chest. She was a downright mess.
"Yes, I-," her voice wobbled, "I'm just so incredibly happy."
Gracie let out an audible 'aww' at Cassidy's words, pulling her in for a comforting hug. The brunette just continued to sob in the girl's arms. She had never felt so emotional in her entire life.
"Even I got teary eyed when I heard you and Taylor singing," Gracie smiled, "It was absolutely beautiful. Your voice live is a whole other level of talent. The crowd was so so so loud cheering for you."
Cassidy was smiling so much it began to hurt, she pulled away from Gracie's hug. She wiped the tears away that were running down her face as she heard Taylor begin her Midnights set. Gracie looked at her in confusion as Cassidy began to drag her from below the stage.
"C'mon! Let's go out for the rest of the show," the brunette beamed, making Gracie nod in a agreement.
They made their way back out to the VIP tent, screaming along with all of the Midnights setlist, however Cassidy did have to look away a few times during Vigilante Shit so no one would notice her blushing.
That was definitely Cassidy's favourite performance in her entire life. She was sure she'd never get over that feeling. Ever.
🦔ᯓᡣ𐭩⋆⋅⋆After Taylor did her final bow, and the stadium began clearing out as it finished, Cassidy watched Jamie make his way to the VIP tent. She informed security that it was okay to let him through and as soon as he made it he tackled Cassidy into his arms.
"I am so so so so so so so insanely proud of you, Casserole! I was balling my eyes out. I hope I didn't ruin my videos. You were both so beautiful, oh my fucking god, I might cry again," Jamie exclaimed whilst squeezing the air out of Cassidy's lungs.
The brunette chuckled, squeezing him back and doing her best not to breakdown into tears again. She'd already cried so much tonight, she was probably going to wake up with an awful headache the next day.
Cassidy pulled away from Jamie's embrace, her cheeks flushed from his gush of compliments. Her attention was caught back by the stadium surrounding her, that was now for the most part empty.
She decided it was probably an appropriate time for them to leave, so with the help of security Gracie, Jamie and Cassidy were escorted to the backstage area. The brunette's breathing was still slightly erratic from the exhilaration she was feeling, but it slowed when her eyes caught a familiar figure in the distance.
