BREAKING AND ENTERING

                                    

                                          
With Nathan suspended until further notice, a difference was finally being made with how Kate was being treated around Blackwell. However, you still wanted to get to the bottom of what exactly happened to her. That was why you decided to partner with Max and her childhood friend you met at the diner, Chloe, to figure it out.
After receiving texts from the two, you decided to sneak out of your dorm late at night to meet up with them. The plan was to search Blackwell, Wells' office specifically, for information regarding Kate, Nathan, and anything else that might be important in order to figure out who was responsible for Kate being drugged.
After miraculously not getting punished despite fighting with Nathan earlier that day, you felt you were really starting to push things with regards to not getting in trouble by sneaking out past curfew. However, you were doing this for Kate, which was all the motivation you needed.
While you wandered around outside in the dark, you inhaled the fresh air of an autumn night and listened to the soothing sound of chirping crickets and owls hooting from afar. These smells and sounds, with warm thoughts of Kate in your mind, boosted your confidence for how well things would go tonight. Eventually, you encountered the girls and conversed with them, asking them what the exact plan was.
"We're going to find out what happened to Kate and prevent it from happening to anyone else" Max explained.
"Yeah, and find out what happened to Rachel" Chloe added.
That name sounded familiar. You then recalled the missing posters around school, featuring a girl with the same name.
"Rachel Amber?" you asked.
"Yeah" Chloe responded.
"I didn't know that you knew her" you said.
"Yeah, me and her go way back. I was the one who put those posters up. I just hope she's okay" Chloe said.
"I'm sure she is, Chloe" you said, attempting to comfort Chloe as she was visibly distraught thinking about her friend's potential fate.
"Yeah, thanks" said Chloe.
"Let's just focus on looking for clues. For one thing, there's too much coincidence between the people around Kate and Rachel" said Max.
"Like step-prick and Nathan Prescott?" Chloe asked.
"'Step-prick'?" you asked.
"David Madsen; he's Chloe's stepdad" Max explained.
"Wait, really?" you asked.
"Yep, it does come with it's benefits, like these; spare keys to Blackwell!" Chloe said, pulling out a set of keys, the sound of their jingling blending with the soft breeze.
"That's so cool, Chloe! I just...don't want us to get into any more trouble..." you said hesitantly.
"Look at all the trouble dropping in Arcadia Bay. At this point, who gives a damn anymore? We're in it to win it. Now, Max, lead the way..." Chloe said.
The three of you then headed into Blackwell, taking every step cautiously as not to make too much noise.
"I'm so glad you're my partners in crime" Max said to the two of you.
"As long as you're our partner in time" you responded.
The three of you eventually reached Wells' office and weren't sure about how to get into it; it was locked and the keys were nowhere to be found. Suddenly, the door opened, with Max emerging from the other side, keys in hand.
"Woah! How'd you do that?" you asked.
"Long story but basically, we made a pipe bomb, it blew the lock off and I rewound time once inside his office since the alarm went off. Didn't want the cops to show up after all" Max explained. This explanation still didn't prevent you from being astounded by Max's powers, though.
Once you and the girls were in the office, you were greeted by the familiar, fresh smell of paper. It never failed to ease your nerves. You then started searching through the files in the drawers and found Kate's. It stated that she "represents the very best of Blackwell". It then went on to describe her high Grade Point Average, outstanding attendance and her participation in the "Meals On Wheels" program. You had heard of this program but didn't know the specifics. You figured you could ask Kate about it the next time that you saw her.
Max and Chloe began searching Wells' computer for information on Rachel Amber. 
"Guys, you better come check out these files...Nathan accused Rachel of bringing drugs on campus? And my step-troll went along because he thinks Rachel was a bad influence on me" said Chloe.
Max and Chloe then came across info on Nathan and were very disturbed by what they saw.
"That's just some crazy drawing..." Chloe said, commenting on a strange image that was supposedly drawn by Nathan.
"It's not a drawing... look, 'Rachel in the dark room... Rachel in the dark room...' over and over. That's it" Max responded.
"Whoa, listen to this, 'David M. always asks what's going on in my head... David M. always helps me follow those he follows...' Pretty cryptic. Jesus, David was stalking Kate, hassling me and (Y/N), and now we know he was all over Rachel too..." Max continued to reveal.
All of this seemed to be coming together; whatever happened to Kate was probably something similar that happened to Rachel. David was trying to keep tabs on it, and Nathan was most likely responsible. You were just glad that Nathan got suspended. Who knows who else he would've been a threat to? You were hoping that David would at least try to help figure things out, based off of how you two made amends the other day following the Nathan incident.
"Oh, we are so going into his garage files... Plus I'm getting a little paranoid in here. We got our info, let's bail" Chloe said.
"Right. (Y/N), we're not quite done here, but do you want to meet us at Chloe's house tomorrow to examine David's files?" Max asked you.
"Yeah, sure. But I'm going back to my dorm now; I don't want to risk actually getting in trouble from something" you answered.
"Alright then, see ya tomorrow, (Y/N). Hopefully, Nathan's file won't give you nightmares" Chloe joked.
After bidding farewell to the girls, you snuck back to your dorm with haste. Although thoughts of Nathan, Rachel and Kate caused you to toss and turn in bed a little, you managed to fall asleep. You waited for your alarm that you set to go off to wake you up so that you could head to Chloe's place. You couldn't help but wonder what Max and Chloe were up to, but you hoped they weren't getting into trouble. You also made sure not to forget the Meals On Wheels topic to bring up to Kate. Slowly but surely, you were getting to the truth.
