A tale of a mermaid

                                    

                                          
Qin slept like a baby after having travelled for such a long time, she slept in and did not wake until noon the next day. The news had travelled fast that a new female cub had arrived at the new village, everyone were excited except the females, they did not like competition much and even though Qin was still just a cub she would in time grow up and try to snatch all the best males in the village. Muir, woke up early but stayed still, he did not want to wake up Qin, she had been bone tired after a long journey and deserved the rest. His mind wandered to Curtis, Harvey and Winston, he hoped they would arrive soon, he could not leave to hunt or do anything so he would have to rely on help from the townsmales and that was just not ideal since they would want something in return, something he would not want to  to give. 
When Qin woke up she was still rather tired but she was ready to explore the village. She hugged Muir and asked if they could go and take a walk, Muir never could tell her no so after getting herself dolled up and presentable off they went. She made sure to look her best, she knew this village valued good looks above almost anything else and she had to admit she was a little vain since entering this body, she wanted to impress, she really liked the attention but who would not. She played the part of a good mannered cub to a tee, she held Muir hand and walked beside him while exploring everything she saw. She was hoping to see Alva, he was a very vain person that only valued looks, still she did like him in the books, he might have been shallow but he had lent a help to save a female from trouble and to her she found him hilarious, she was hoping she would not be disappointed when she would meet him. 
In their walks they met the tribe leader, it was Alva's father,he was such stunning man, Qin saluted him like she was greeting a king, she wanted him to feel important and also show she had good manners. The man was very impressed with the female and asked why they had entered their little village, Muir was going to answer but Qin squeezed his and and took the lead, she put on a good show, she look at him with teary eyes, she looked around and told him it was a secret, the leader came very curious and asked if she could tell him, she told him she could but he had to promise not to tell anyone. He liked the little cub so he said yes. She told him to bend down to her level, she whispered into his ear that she was being targeted and she needed a good place to hide from dangerous beasts. The tribe leader felt sorry for the little cub, he could understand why she was targeted, she was the most fairest female cub he had ever seen and he had been surrounded by beauties for most of his life. Since they valued beauty here he told her that her secret was safe, he would forbid every beasts from talking about her arrival to any outsiders. Qin smiled even more brightly, she liked to put on a show so she fell down on her knees and kissed the feet of the leader, she started to cry, thanking him for saving her life. The leader felt so bad for the little cub, what horrors had she seen, he made a vow to himself and to the beast goddess to protect this cub from any danger, she was such a innocent, little cub, well mannered and kind, he wanted her to stay like that forever. 
Qin asked if mermen had ever come to this village before and he said that no mermen would ever come to this part of the ocean since the piranha clan ruled this part and they had been feuding for a very long time. Qin wanted to learn more so the leader invited them to his hut for dinner, Qin accepted gladly and could not wait to hear this story. Muir and her sat down, in the biggest hut of the village, it was nice but she knew that their home would be much nicer but that was not what she wanted to think about she wanted to know about the quarrels between the piranhas and the mermen clan. The leader sat down after offering them drinks, the other males tended to dinner while the leader hosted the guests. 
The leader told them that the dispute between the two clans had been ongoing for centuries. It all started with a beautiful mermaid called Þyrna. She had been a beautiful redhead mermaid, her fate was same as other mermaids, she belonged solely to the mermen's clan and her king brother was supposed to be her first mate but things did not go as the merman clan wanted. The leader of the piranhas clan had accidentally seen her when he had made a trip to see the merman king and that one look was enough for him to fall deeply in love with the unfortunate mermaid, he had been a very cleaver beast so he made a very good plan to steal the mermaid from the mer king and he succeeded. At the beginning the mermaid wanted nothing to do with the piranhas leader so he had forcefully mated her so that she would be his for eternity. As time grew by the mermaid fell in love with him too but it just could not last. It took awhile but the merclan found out who had stolen their queen, they attacked the piranhas fiercely to get their queen back and they had succeeded but after that the mermaid just wanted to go back to her mate, the king was devastated, he had not mated her yet since she had been too young before and she had matured when she was stolen. The king was not a good beasts so he forced her just as the piranhas leader had done but she would not accept him, no matter what he did. He made her have many offspring's and she did not accept any of them as hers but the king did not care, he had already gone mad, he forced her to have offspring's until she finally gave birth to a female cub, after that he took his army along with his queen to the piranhas territory there he called out to the leader of the piranhas, he came as quickly as he could, trying to snatch his mate back but it was of no use, he could only watch as the mer king slit her throat and then ate her in front of him, the mer king told him, he was the reason she was dead and that they would always be at odds after that day. He swam back to his home, lost without his precious. He sat down on his throne and slit his throat just like he had done to his queen, he hoped that she would love him in the garden of the beast goddess.
Qin wanted to puke when she heard that story, everything here was so violent but still this was to her favour, her brother would most likely not come here to look for her, she wondered why she had never heard of that story but then she thought why would her brother ever tell her such a ghastly tale. She was curious of the piranhas though, she had thought piranhas lived in lakes or rivers and not the sea but she did not know much about them except they hunted as one, she hoped she might be able to swim in the sea but she did not want to be stolen and forced to do anything against her will. Muir had not liked that story on bit, he had never heard of it before and he was determined to keep Qin far away from the sea, he wondered if they should leave and find another village, this did not feel safe to him but Qin reassured him and told him everything would be fine, she had the best guardians a cub could ever have. After they had eaten their fill they left, it was getting late and it was time for Qin to rest. Qin had learned a lot this day, she had also made a new powerful friend, she was happy she was just a cub yet it had many benefits and males wanted to protect her just because she was young. She walked back home holding Muirs hand, she was happy and she felt safe here, she felt this place could be their home, she couldn't remember anything horrible happening here, except the fire and she felt she would be able to stop it before it would become too big. 
They had not met anyone on their way home, Qin walked slowly, she had stuffed her belly just a little too much so it was nice to take a walk to before falling asleep. As soon as they came back to their hut Muir morphed to his eagle. Qin laid on top of him and fell asleep like a log, it would take a few days to rest until she would feel like her old self again.
