Season one, episode four
Part two: metal box of horror

Much to Luna's distaste the woman didn't go away, and neither did the gut feeling that she was no good.

Maybe she just assumed everybody who showed the slightest interest in them was a horrible person; someone who wanted them dead.

But that was just Luna Fawn's messed-up way of thinking. To believe everybody is terrible until they prove themselves to her messed-up standards.

She wasn't that trusting.

Unfortunately, Luna wanted to be as trusting and kind as Grover. To be able to smile at strangers on the street without a care.

God, even to be able to smile at anything without having to force it out. To let the things Luna loves consume her.

But she couldn't think of that now. Not while a strange woman and her pet sat near.

"This isn't your fault." She addressed the four sitting at the table, "But sadly, you're going to have to bear the burden of your parent's mistakes today." She gave an ever-so-fake smile.

Percy interrupted, "Listen, lady. I don't know who you are, but u think I know what you are." He stated. "We've run across a few monsters like you and we've sent them all packing."

The woman scoffed, offended. "Monsters like me?" She raised a hand to her chest, with a mock of hurt. "Well.. of course, they're like me." Soon after her face dropped.

And so did Lunas followed by Annabeth, both girls knew who was standing in front of them.

"They were my children." The woman's voice goes monotone, no more fake kindness inside.

Luna's face tensed into one of disgust.

"Children?" Percy asked confused. "What does that mean?"

Luna turned to him, "Yes she gives birth to ugly monsters... I see where they get it from." She gazes back at the woman, a sarcastic smile on her face.

The woman narrowed her eyes to the archer, yet another familiar flash of realisation of who Luna was flashed. Too many gods have recognised her in an instant, it made the archer wonder what her creator has said about her.

"The Mother of Monsters," Grover answered shuffling in his seat.

"Echidna."
