At the border of Tenebris

"I still do not think this is a good idea." Aquarius whispered to Gemini as they both observed the guards protecting the border.

This was the first time the general has ever even thought of being spontaneous. This would have been great if they weren't attempting to enter the territory of a tyrant. A purely evil one at that.

"They are going to change shifts in exactly a minute. We'll have 45 seconds to attempt the cross." Gemini told him. "You copy?"

Aquarius nodded as they got into position.

At precisely 60 seconds, they ran as fast as they could and hid behind an oak tree.

"Are you sure...we are well hidden?" Aquarius asked with a pause in the middle, as an attempt to catch his breath. Even while on the run, he has never ran this fast. Afterall, leaving was much easier than entering.

"We are." His friend reassured him. "I've already calculated. This angle should be in their blind spot."

"I see. Now what do we do?"

"Catch your breath before we do anything." He answered, alluding to the heavy panting. He then looked up at the sky. "I'll figure out the rest while you rest."

"You didn't plan our escape from here?!" Aquarius exclaimed baffled.

"Quiet." The other shushed him before answering his question. "And yes. I did not think this far ahead."

Aquarius put a hand on Gemini's forehead. "Are you still drunk? Or maybe a fever or something? You are not thinking rationally which I find very unlike you."

This caused his friend to violently push his palm away. "I am perfectly fine, thank you." He declared with a glare.

Aquarius sighed. "Never would I have thought that I'd be the mature one. It is a frankly bizarre feeling."

"Are you calling me immature?" Gemini said with offense.

"Forgive me, but you are acting like a child who cannot think his decisions through." He muttered back, only he kept a low voice in order to not be heard.

But the general possessed keen hearing. And he heard everything.

"Excus-" He attempted to shout, but was interrupted when Aquarius placed both his palms on his lips to prevent him from speaking any louder.

"Do not speak too loudly." His friend whispered in an authoritarian tone. "You'll alarm the guards."

Gemini simply nodded.

"Also, I have a plan." Aquarius added nervously. "But it'll require much crawling on the ground."

"Can't we go on the trees and do like orangutans do?" He suggested.

"It'll cause rustling, which will allow everyone to know of our presence."

He whispered his plan to the general. After a few minutes to perfect it, they got to work.

It had rained near the border two days ago. This meant the soil was still muddy all over the area.

It didn't take much to find the solution.
