Chapter 72: Propaganda & Consequences

Start from the beginning

Many owls carrying letters for her had arrived soon after the article circulated across the Wizarding World. Some where of her friends questioning her in astonishment (minus Sirius, whom was rather crossed with himself for not having realized the verity of her claim on her summer plans, and was attempting to interrogate her over what else she was set out to do). Others were of other schoolmates pretending to suddenly be her greatest friend, including the young Gilderoy Lockhart, and a few Slytherins (no doubt under their Death Eater parents, with ulterior motives). Then there were many from strangers, which included either praises, fan mail (which had existed since her rediscovery of the spell to awaken magic on Late-bloomers and Squibs), or hate mail. A lot of hate mail. But the latter wasn't much over killing a magical creature itself, but rather how she was desecrating wizard culture, specifically that of the visionary Salazar Slytherin. Most of those letters were, in fact, howlers.

Currently, however, she was dealing with a different issue. As she walked the halls of the Ministry, she held her head high, trying to ignore all the stairs and whispers while walking to the Department of Law Enforcement's secretary. "Good afternoon. My name is Sandy Reese. I would like to speak with Bartemius Crouch Senior, please?" He was not a man she wished to see. From what she knew, he wasn't exactly the best person. Sure, he was against Voldemort, and was would be useful during this war. However, he was rather power-hungry, and a rather neglectful, and toxic parent.

Slightly agape, the young intern nodded. "I, yes ma'am." He cleared his throat, looking around at a schedule he had laid out on his desk. No matter how surprised, and even internally geeking over her presence, he was still rather terrified of his boss, and had a job to do. "He is in, but, I do need to record the purpose of this visit, before I ask if he's got time to see you."

Having looked over to the young man (whom had to be three or so years older than her), she recognized his dirty blonde, curled hair, and blue eyes. Between having seen him drop off Lavender on the King's Cross Station, and the name on his name tag, she was certain he was Lavender's future father. At that moment, it was hard to get the picture of her ex-fellow house mate's wide eyes and cold skin after an attack from Fenrir Greyback. But, alas, she noticed the man's eyes on her, expectantly waiting for a response. Straightening up, Sandy showed a jaw on her hand, those lid had a few holes. Although, what was most important was it's contents; a beetle. Only it wasn't truly just a beetle, but rather a woman. Specifically someone whom just so happened to have been writing gossip on the Black brothers' sudden departure from the House of Black, and how their recently deceased uncle had departed from family expectations and left his inheritance to them both. Not to mention, in her timeline, this very woman was the source of plenty of anguish her cousin had had to endure. "I'm here to report a criminal. An Unregistered Animagus. She broke into Hogwarts, and engaged in illegal surveillance of a minor- of me."

"Oh... Oh, right! Of course. I'll get him, ma'am." He then proceeded to leave Sandy behind, and sprint to Mr Crouch's office. After a few seconds, he sprinted back, panting, as he realized his mistake. "I will be right back after I get his answer." And then, Mr Brown returned to his endeavour of rushing to the Head of the Department of Law Enforcement.

Sandy let out a small chuckle at his antics, and looked down at the jaw. She had decided to copy Hermione's idea, of making the jar indestructible, after stunning the woman. Of course, she had seen the beetle first, cast the Animagus Reversal Spell to be certain, disarmed her, then stunned her, force her back in her Animagus form, and levitated her in the jaw. Naturally, Sandy had also informed the woman what would happen if she attempted to shift back to her human form while inside the jar. And Dumbledore had used legilimency on Rita to ensure she had not learnt anything problematic. "Call it petty revenge if you want, but you're going to Azkaban." She muttered to the jaw, and the beetle began moving around in agitation, fearful of what was to come.
