"Get ready. We're heading out." Ben said abruptly.
Y/n blinked and was caught off guard.
"Going out? Where are we going?" she asked.
She had not expected this sudden demand.
"Looks like Ben's got something on his mind. Hughie and I've got some errands to run too, so we'll be out of your way for a bit. You two can hang out." Butcher shrugged.
Hughie nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, we've got a few things to take care of." He added while he shifted from foot to foot.
Ben ignored Butcher's comment and kept his focus solely on Y/n.
"Just come with me. We are not going out to murder someone so be cool."
With a resigned sigh, she nodded.
"Okay, I'll get ready."
Ben gave a curt nod of acknowledgment. He turned away from her and settled back onto the couch.
.
They both climbed into the car and Ben slid into the driver's seat with a casual ease and leaned back as he adjusted the seat to his liking.
Y/n, on the other hand sat in the passenger seat.
Ben glanced over at her and instantly a smirk played at his lips.
"Relax. We're just going out to eat. Why are you so scared?" He asked with a hint of sarcasm as if the question itself was trivial.
"We're just going to eat? And what about-"
Ben cut her off with a wave of his hand.
"Oh, and I need to pick up some booze and benzos. You know, the usual. But don't worry about it. I'll handle it. You just stay out of trouble."
Y/n's eyes widened slightly at his mention of the substances.
"I-I can't do that. I mean, I shouldn't-"
Ben chuckled darkly and cut her off.
"I'll be the one buying them. You just sit tight and let me deal with it. You're here to keep me company, remember?"
She just nodded.
As Ben navigated through the city streets, he turned to her with a questioning look.
"So, where's the best place to get a burger around here?"
"There's a place not too far from here. It's called Joe's Burgers. They're known for their juicy patties and great fries. Just take the next left and then it's right up ahead."
Ben nodded and accelerated, the car's engine roared as he sped through the city.
She braced herself as she gripped the handle on the door.
When they finally arrived, the sight that greeted them was surprisingly impressive.
Joe's Burgers was an establishment with a retro feel. The place was bigger than Y/n had described with an extensive parking lot and a line of eager customers who were waiting outside.
Ben's eyebrows raised in a bit surprise.
"Well, this place is bigger than I thought." He remarked as he pulled into a parking spot.
He seemed genuinely impressed as he glanced around.
"Let's see if their burgers live up to the hype you just described."
They stepped into the burger joint and Ben's eyebrows lifted in surprise as he took in the modern atmosphere.
The place was bigger than he expected and was filled with younger people.
