I froze in my tracks. Malfoy turned in my direction slowly, "What are you doing here?" he said shortly, as I was standing there, still as a tree. "Erm-I was going to study in here and, er- I opened the door and it was this other room." I explained, looking at anything and anywhere but his eyes. "It's a Vanishing Cabinet." he explained, and I was again surprised that he was explaining. "Don't be surprised." he said, looking at my expression. "It's not you who refused my handshake at the start of first year, I can't really blame you..we're normally just rude to each other because you're Potter's sister." He muttered, as he sat down on a sofa. "It's an amazing thing, really. A Vanishing Cabinet. See, I'll show you." he said, getting up from the sofa. He placed a green apple into the Cabinet, closed the door and muttered again, "Harmonia Nectere Passus." he opened the Cabinet door, and the apple was gone. He closed it again. "Harmonia Nectere Passus." the apple was back again. "Amazing, isn't it?"
I had been watching with apprehension, biting a nail as I did so. "Interesting." I say, letting go of my nail. "Why were you using it?" I ask, staring at the Cabinet. "I was just curious, y'know. I read about these in a book, and I wanted to know how it worked."
"Oh." I say, tearing my gaze from the Cabinet. "It's really nice."
"Yeah," He says, looking at the ground and smiling. Merlin, that smile could drive me crazy. "It really is."
The next few days, Malfoy was again very rude to me, as usual, shoving me over when I was in the way. It was almost as if that afternoon in the Room of Requirement never happened. I had left the Room of Requirement after a few minutes of small talk, and had gone to the library as there was an empty seat next to a window, where I could open it and get a nice breeze. "Ashwinder eggs and rose thorns.." I muttered, jotting down the recipe of Amortentia for Potions homework. Suddenly, Hermione came and sat next to me, with her homework. "Where's Harry and Ron?" I said, looking around. "They're at Quidditch practice. You missed trials the other day, why?"
"I was studying for the Herbology essay." I said, dipping my quill in ink. "Oh." said Hermione shortly, turning back to her Defense Against the Dark Arts homework. Snape had given us a 10 inch long essay to write, it wasn't easy. However, I had already gotten through half of it, and I was completing the other 5 inches of it. "How was Ron?" I said shortly, not looking up from my work. "He was okay. He beat Mclaggen, at least." I almost dropped my quill in surprise, some ink splashing on the page. "𝘔𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘯 tried out?"
"Yes, he did. Even I was surprised."
I finished up my writing and left the library, only to bump into Rose Daela. She had blonde hair, and had a face like a pig. She devoted her entire life on being a Slytherin, wearing green bangles, Slytherin logo clips all over her hair, and to top it all off, she wore this hot pink matte lipstick. She was an absolute nightmare to me, and she had a crush on Malfoy. When we both came out of the Room of Requirement at the same time, she suspected us doing something 'nasty'.
"Ugh! Are you blind!? I don't want some filthy Gryffindor touching 𝘮𝘦!" She said, as if I had hurt her or something. I rolled my eyes. "Can you be any less dramatic?" I said, dusting off my skirt, since my ink bottle had smudged it a bit. "𝘋𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤!? Ugh! You're the dramatic one! You stole my Dray!"
I snorted, raising an eyebrow. "Dray? And how does 'stealing your Dray' make me dramatic?" She chose to ignore the last part of the question. "Yes! I have a lot of nicknames for my Dracie poo!" She said, flicking her blonde hair to the side.
"Whatever you say." I walked away, not letting her answer.
