Y/N's POVAs I opened the door and stepped into the foyer, I was taken aback by the sight of Olivia lounging there with a smirk.
"What are you doing here?" I demanded, my frustration evident in my voice.
Olivia raised an eyebrow. "Just staying here again for school. Thought it'd be easier than bouncing between Mom's and Dad's."
"This isn't some dormitory," I retorted. "You were supposed to be with Mom. What changed?"
Olivia shrugged dismissively. "Mom's got her own things to handle. I figured this place was more convenient. Plus, it's quieter."
Before I could argue further, Dad walked in, looking tired and worn. He took in the scene with a weary sigh.
"It's for the better, Y/N," Dad said firmly. "Olivia staying here helps her focus on her studies. It's not up for debate."
My frustration boiled over. "Seriously? This is just another complication. Why can't she stay with Mom?"
"Mom's dealing with her own issues," Olivia chimed in, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "And if you're so curious, maybe I'm here to keep an eye on your new toy."
I froze, my heart pounding with anger. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Olivia's smirk widened. "Oh, you know. Lizzie. Is she your new toy, Y/N? Because you're quite the player."
Lizzie, who had been standing quietly beside me, squeezed my hand, sensing my rising anger. Her eyes showed concern, and I could feel her frustration mingling with mine.
"Olivia, that's enough," I snapped, trying to control my anger. "This isn't time for your attitude."
Dad stepped in, clearly tired of the conflict. "Y/N, this is not up for discussion. Olivia staying here is the decision we've made."
I shot Olivia one last scathing look, the words I wanted to say burning in my throat but remaining unspoken. "Fine," I said tersely. "Let's go, Lizzie."
I led Lizzie upstairs, her hand still in mine, offering a small comfort as we escaped the tension downstairs.
Lizzie's POV
As we walked to Y/N's room, I sat down on her bed while she went to her closet. When she emerged, wearing only a sports bra and shorts with a towel draped around her neck, I was momentarily stunned. Fuck, she looks incredible.
Her sports bra hugged her body in all the right ways. If this is what a sports bra and shorts can do, I can't imagine how she looks in anything else. My mind was already racing with all sorts of ideas, not that I'd ever admit that out loud.
Y/N changed into a shirt, and I stood up to go to her. I gently cupped her cheeks, making her look at me. "You can talk to me, okay?" I said, trying to offer her comfort.
She nodded and managed a small smile. "I'm sorry for the way I acted."
I shook my head, not wanting her to feel guilty. "It's okay."
But she wasn't done. "No, it's not, I'm really sorry about how Olivia spoke to you."
I nodded, accepting her apology, but it didn't make me any less flustered. I couldn't help but bury my head in her chest when she pulled me into a hug. Fuck, this is so unfair. Her smell could seriously kill me.
Y/N held me close, and her touch was soothing. "Let's get to bed, okay?" she suggested, her fingers playing with my hair.
I looked up at her with my best pout, hoping to get her to agree to a movie first. "Movie first?"
