Wei Wuxian

I woke up with a headache. Sitting on my bed I looked around, as usual Wangji was up early again. Good for me, cause I don't know how to react or what to tell him about yesterday. My alcohol tolerance was pretty good, I wasn't the kind to get drunk that easily and yesterday one can't say I was drunk. Especially after what happened in Gusu, I dare not drink like that.
Wangji didn't know just a few cans of beer can't get me drunk, I'm sure he had no idea what we were even drinking yesterday. I was a little tipsy but clearly knew what I was doing, just that I couldn't control myself when he was so close. We would have ended up kissing if not me trying to put myself to sleep. I mentally slapped myself as the images of previous night flashed in my mind.
Slowly I noticed the bedroom door opening and Wangji came in, our eyes met and they were locked for a few seconds before both of us looked away abruptly.
"You are up....I..I cooked breakfast."

"Ya..I'm coming" and he left not looking at me. I thought he might want to ask me about what happened but he didn't seem to care at all. Did he forget? I'm sure he didn't even have a sip.

"I made porridge. You don't mind having ya? I can get you bread and jam if you want but we have been eating the same for..."

"No no I don't." I knew he would have been bored of having the same thing every single day, so when we went out to mall a few days back I made sure to go to the supermarket with him to get groceries.

"It's usually supposed to be so spicy but I guess people here are not into spice much so I reduced it." it was Wangji's first time cooking for me and by just the spell and colour I could say....I'll die if I eat it.

He was looking at me with those beautiful eyes, expecting me to taste it, how am I gonna tell him I can't have this. I shut my eyes close for a second trying to convince myself it won't be that spice and slowly raising the spoon close to my mouth, ate it. Even before I could show any reaction, it was clear on Wangji's face.

"Are you ok?" he rushed to me with a glass of water. I didn't know tears were flowing down, I was almost dying.

"I'm sorry I didn't know, I reduced spice. I didn't expect it to hurt you so much...."

Though I was the one suffering, it was Wangji who was almost crying and it took me a while to calm him down.

After that day, Wangji never added spice to anything he cooked before letting Wuxian taste it. They actually have gotten closer after that, though both never spoke about that night of house gathering.

They both had started to pay attention to eachother, especially Wuxian. Like this one time they went out for dinner, he noticed Wangji enjoying ice cream and had taken a mental note to always buy a few and store it in freezer for him. To be honest this caused him more harm than he expected, once when Wuxian came back around midnight after work, Wangji was sitting on the kitchen countertop wearing a loose white sweatshirt, eating ice cream to keep himself from sleeping before his husband reached back home. One look at him licking the icecream cone and Wuxian almost regretted not getting a popsicle. The temperature wasn't hot at all but he was sweating and trying to avoid looking at Wangji as much as possible.

Ok...ok...it's his husband he has the right to look at him but staring at his lips whenever they spoke, wondering how it'll feel and thinking he should have taken the chance that night to kiss them, is just....

He would have never told these things to anyone if it was not for his best friend abroad who kept pushing him to talk about it. There wasn't even a single day when they didn't text each other. So he knew very well what Wuxian was going through and was encouraging him to talk a step forward. Thanks to his advice, Wuxian takes Wangji out for a walk most of the days and that grew a new habit. Wangji wasn't used to these many cars or such huge roads, of course. So he has to hold Wuxian's hand while they walked and both quickly got used to it. Even if Wangji forgets, Wuxian would make sure to hold him tight and they walked the whole way hand in hand.
