Prince

Tory Nichols was not one for fairytales; not since she was a little girl and her mom corrected Tory on the fact that they didn't need a prince to come and save them, they could learn to fight for themselves.

Although, as she grew up, there were times when Tory wished things were as simple as a fairytale. Living in Hollywood and so close to Disneyland didn't help, the entire City of Angels reeked of happy endings and fairytale dreams. The universe seemed to like bleeding hope and reminders of fairytales into Tory's life: her first love, Miguel, made her feel like her life was turning around. But the movie plot twist came then, Tory was revealed as the pauper pretending to be the princess when the true, spoilt princess returned to the kingdom.

After the princess' exile from society (Tory's juvenile record), she found herself masquerading as a princess for money and as she entertained the future generation of princesses, Tory told them a paraphrased version of what her mother had told her - although the prince had came to save her, she actually saved the prince. These little girls sitting at her feet (or fin) didn't need to believe they had to wait on a prince to save them, even though, they were from Encino and would probably never need a prince to save them.

As Tory climbed the ranks of Cobra Kai, she found herself titled with the moniker Queen Cobra, there had never been a Queen Cobra before her, it had always been a king. However, she soon found herself sharing the title with another King Cobra. As much as Tory wanted Robby at the dojo for his skills, his ability to piss their enemies off, and the fact that she thought he was like her and needed a break, she hated this symbolism they had found themselves marked with and the feeling that he was saving her after she had been trying to save him. Hence, why she pushed him away as they grew closer. She didn't need a prince, let alone a king, to save her.

In the dojo, after the truth had been revealed about the All Valley, Tory proudly stood up to Silver admitting it was her idea to show the footage. She wasn't scared when he threateningly moved closer to her but that was the first time she was glad to have her king by her side.

When her mother died and all those childhood memories came flooding back to Tory, the one that stuck out was the memory of her mother telling her that they didn't need a prince and they could learn to fight themselves. That's why she didn't answer Robby's increasing number of calls and messages. Everything Tory had done for the past 5 years had been for her mother and that was not going to change just because she wouldn't be here to see Tory prove how well she could fight on her own.

Now in Barcelona, a foreign kingdom, Tory was the definition of a princess locked in the tower. She had been dethroned as the head student of Cobra Kai and everyone from the dojo was under strict orders not to let her out of their sights as their senseis feared she would return to their enemy, Miyagi-Do. And her beautiful, heartbroken, former co-ruler was now king of a new kingdom with another co-ruler, the Princess of Encino, but that didn't stop him battling the dragon that kept her caged every chance he got; breaking Tory's heart more, she didn't deserve him, not after she spent nearly a year assuming she didn't need him.

Unfortunately, the young couple's secret late night beach rendezvous had been rumbled. Rather than, inform Tory that they were aware of these meetings, the evil senseis planned something more devious, as Kim realised there was only one thing that would keep Tory and Robby apart.

Despite Silver being in prison, he still seemed to have a hand in Cobra Kai, Tory thought, if the same protein shakes that were in the flagship dojo were anything to go by. They were still as disgusting as she remembered, she thought chugging as much of it back as she could handle while Kim glared at her waiting for Tory to fail the simple instruction.
