Two days passed and Skyler still had no idea who Shapeless could be. Judging by the population in the highschool, finding out could take months!
They obviously didn't have that much time. What could she do? Sure she could predict the future... but what good would that do? She couldn't prevent anything from happening! All that her powers were good for was causing widespread panic and when would they ever need that? To be honest, when would anyone ever want that?

Skyler sighed, the air making her shiver. It wasn't just the idea of waiting for her bus alone that made her uneasy, but what today had in store for them. So far, the news had been silent, no new deaths on tv. Shapeless was waiting for something. She had no clue where he would strike next.
On top of that, she hadn't had a vision for a while so she really was clueless.
Having these strange abilities made Skyler feel unusual and out of place in her world. No one else understood what it was like. To have the shadows of the past stalking her, not to mention the future lurking in every corner. That was very different from society. She knew this because not long ago she had been living a normal life, away from black magic's trauma. Now she was right in the middle of the terrible danger. She would admit, this was new to her. No one would judge her for being so unprepared. No one could have predicted this would happen.

Skyler flinched as the screech of tires brought her back to the present. She climbed the bus stairs, taking a seat. She sat down, stealing a glance at the seat beside her. She was relieved to find Peter there as he should be. The blonde was staring out the window, not making a sound. Her friend hadn't noticed her arrive. Skyler cleared her throat but still, Peter didn't respond. Skyler was beginning to wonder if he was awake at all when he turned his head.
Fearful, blue eyes met her gaze and she flinched. "What's wrong Peter?"
Peter shook his head. "I don't know... but I can feel it in the air." he murmured. Skyler frowned. "What do you mean?" she stammered, dreading the answer. Apparently she wasn't imagining the silent danger.
"We must prepare." Peter sounded so scared, Skyler's eyes widened.
"But we are discovering things about the Shapeless every day, aren't we preparing enough?" she demanded.
He shook his head more fiercely this time. "We aren't learning fast enough! Something is approaching and none of us will see it coming." his voice trembled. "There's no possible way to be ready. Not for this." he insisted grimly.
Skyler gulped as foreboding gripped her. Just two days ago Peter had been laughing his annoyance away with friends. Now he looked like he had seen a ghost. Skyler frowned. How could he tell? She was the one who could predict the future.
"How did you find out?" she whispered, feeling a sort of reverence for the moment.
Peter scowled out the window, gazing at the trees. "The animals are troubled."
"Can't we ask them what is wrong?" Skyler prompted but the answer was clear in Peter's expression.
"If they knew what was going on, they would have told me."
Panic filled his eyes. "What are we going to do?" he gasped.
Skyler's brown eyes widened, struggling to stay calm for both their sakes. "Well, all I know is that Shapeless isn't on the kill right now, which should only mean good right?" she suggested hopefully.
Peter still wasn't convinced. "He's waiting for something, something big." His words held such a heavy warning, it clutched Skyler's heart with fear.
"Yes." she breathed to lower her voice. "Yes, but that should buy us time to figure out how to stop him." she tried to convince them both.
Peter hesitated before nodding slowly, as if trying to take comfort from her words alone.
"Yah, I guess." he breathed in, deeply.

Skyler attempted to stop her heart from pounding when Peter turned to her again.
"Thank you." he mumbled.
Skyler was confused. "Thank you?" she questioned.
Peter nodded. "For staying. Being here for me. Making sure I don't go crazy."
Skyler laughed quietly. "That's what friends are for." she winked.
The blonde smiled. A moment of comfortable silence filled the air.
Peter was staring at Skyler thoughtfully. Skyler tilted her head slightly. "What's up?"
