When Jimin removed his hand from her mouth so she could speak after reaching a safe place, Cheryl said, "What are you doing, Jimin? We need to get back there... we can't leave him there alone."
Jimin lowered his head and said, "There's no use, Cheryl... by now, the cops must have caught him."
Cheryl grabbed Jimin's shoulders with both hands, saying, "What are you trying to say? Look into my eyes, Jimin, and tell me what you're trying to say." She was panicking intensely.
Jimin, looking at her with tears in his eyes, explained, "Sin Jae called the cops... Jungkook didn't want them to arrest you for killing Baekhyun, so he asked me to get you out of there. He's taking the blame on himself."
She screamed, "WHAT? I can't let that happen. It's my fault... Jungkook shouldn't face anything..."
She tried to go back in that direction, but Jimin grabbed her hand and said, "Don't go, Cheryl....pleasee... Let him do what he wants. If something happens to you, he'll blame himself for the rest of his life. He's already broken from the truth... He wants to pun!sh himself. Let him heal his broken soul."
She turned around to face him""For what exactly does he want to punish himself? FOR EXACTLY WHATT? For enduring so much pain all these years? For slowly dy!ng deep inside? I can't comprehend... What did he tell you? Did he claim he tortured and hurt me since we got married?
IT'S NOT TRUE. He never even laid a finger on me. He never harmed me physically. He was just rude towards me... I admit he never treated me as his wife, but believe me, he also never treated me like a villain or murderer of the only person he had left as family after losing his parents. I admit he was very harsh with words on his birthday, but trust me, it was the first time he behaved like that...
He could have retaliated violently after what he thought I did...he could've smashed my feet on those glass pieces, but instead, he left, uttering those hurtful words... I know he didn't actually want me to do it... Do you think a person who apologizes to flowers after plucking them can inflict such harm?"
He fell on his knees and began to say speak again with tears flowing from her eyes "I cried that night, but not more than him; he cried in front of me until he passed out. He was literally begging me to let him hate me, trying hard to accept that I was at fault. For what is he blaming himself? For not trusting me? If he didn't feel I could never do something like this, he might have killed me by now.
He wasn't at fault, Jimin... he was never at fault. He was just trapped in those fabricated situations created by Baekhyun. I know him. I've seen him crying his heart out, struggling to breathe. I've seen his tear-stained eyes... I wish I had a clue about what's hurting him... I thought maybe he's like this after losing you, perhaps I remind him of you, the times we spent together... I never realized until his birthday that something happened that I'm not aware of... I was never a victim... he was. He's been suffering from the beginning, Jimin... I can't let him suffer anymore..."
Jimin kneeled infront of her to give her a little strength as she was falling apart. Tears were falling from his eyes too. He was blaming himself... He was blaming himself for their separation.
She joined her hands in front of Jimin, looking straight into his eyes, and said, "Please save him, Jimin, please... I beg you, please... I can't live without him... please."
Jimin hugged her, caressing her back, and reassured, "Don't worry... I'll try my best to get him out of this chaos."
