Staring down at her reflection in the golden pearl encrusted vanity, the girl brushed her soft strands of hair, letting each piece wash over her skin in glossy waves. Out of all the things in the castle she had called her home and school for the past 3 years she would be missing her room the most. The palace like beds, filled to the brim in feathers which let her sink into them after endless nights of studying. Most importantly of course were the expanse of windows carved from stained glass through which she could stare at the waves crashing on the French beaches each night in a ritualistic fashion.
Looking at them now with the soft glow of the moonlight hanging across them she second guessed herself. Perhaps her room wouldn't be the thing she missed most from the school. Her evening visits to the water would plague her memory, calling out for her throughout each and every day she departed from it. She had already ventured to the sandy paradise that night, washing away the residue from her skin and hair as to not alarm Madame Maxime or the other girls whom all lied asleep in their beds or awake in anticipation of their journey in the morning. She had had to cut her nightly routine basking in the waves short, making sure to make it back in time to get a good night sleep.
It wasn't that she was necessarily excited or even unhappy at the prospect of venturing into new territory but rather she was still caught up on the contemplation that plagued only herself, her aunts decision to move her across national borders to study abroad. It was a daunting idea, leaving behind years of what she knew and to enter another society one of which she had never been introduced to.
Still she had dutifully agreed to her aunts wishes, packing away almost all of her belongings which had littered her room, leaving only a set of suitcases sitting at the base of her bed to signify that there was an occupant in her room. Tomorrow it would be completely empty and any trace of her would be missing, soon to be filled by another student at Beauxbatons. And now slipping into her sheets, legs sliding over the soft bedding, she held onto the hope that everything would be alright, dreaming about an even more beautiful beach with even more beautiful waves which would wash over her and bathe away the ache which grew in her legs when she was away from the water for too long.

sorry the first chapter is so short, it's more of a prologue of what's to come. I really wanted to get on here again but didn't know if I wanted to continue the last book seeing as I wrote it about 8 years ago. Let me know what you guys think and what house you would want to be in.
