"Are you gonna get up? Or are you waiting for Prince Charming to get you back on your fucking feet?" I narrow my eyes down at the member of the opposition who was particularly lazy during training.
Not that he could even see my eyes beneath the mask. But the tilt of my head, with the rifle in my hand was enough to get him scrambling to his feet.
I opted to wear the uniform of the special forces to the court trial today. I was armed and prepared for whatever issues awaited us.
"Your posture is all wrong, you are sloppy, and you are not even focusing," I use a branch to hit each of the other members in training who thought they had escaped my lectures.
The sun was barely up and I had put all of them under strict training for hours. I was just as exhausted as them but I wouldn't allow it to show on my face. There wasn't time for exhaustion and a fight doesn't stop just because you're tired beyond explanation.
"Lay off on them would you, we need a healthy army," the voice is music to my ears. My shoulders relax in relief upon seeing her beautiful self step towards me, I might have even sighed in content. Noor was ready for the court trial today, she looked beyond beautiful. She was going to restore the world, she wanted to look good while she did it.
I had bought her the dress, had it tailored just for her with all the things I knew she liked. She liked silk, she liked a deep red that was almost burgundy. The long dress hugged her figure and trailed down with a pattern that made her look like a flame. It wasn't necessarily extravagant, it was formal and appropriate but anything she wore looked exquisite.
I hadn't spent much time with her in the past few days in my concentration of trying to figure things out. I had ripped apart the memories in my head and chose which ones I wanted to be real, let myself take power over it all. And now, I felt like a child again. My crush was back.
I stopped breathing when she stepped closer, looking up to me with a small smile. Every time her lips take that form, my heart smiles too. I'll never understand how she does it. She reaches forward, removing the helmet from my head and revealing my messy hair underneath. She pats the sweat trickling down the side of my head, cleaning it with her sleeve as she smiles faintly. "So much dedication to training, your husband duties call you, general," she says softly with a fond look. I can't believe she's so fond of me sometimes.
I must have missed her gesture to the army because they had all scattered away when I glanced back.
"I wasn't done with them," I mutter in dissatisfaction, still easing into her touch.
"Too bad, they have to get going before we do because we can't be late" she scrunched her nose.
I had already sent my officials to surround the high court and scan for threats beforehand. We had to arrange an insane amount of vans and cars to account for the numbers of the army. The opposition were armed and were going to be filling the crowd that was flooding the entire town of where the court hearing was being held.
