It was a crisp winter evening, and Harry was sitting on his couch at home, looking wistfully out the window. Soon though, he grew bored and sighed. He turned his gaze at the coffee table where his phone was. He didn't want to waste a beautiful snowy night like this cooped up inside. So what better way to spend the nice night than go ice skating with his wonderful girlfriend?

While Harry sent her an invite to go skating with him, Y/n had been cuddled up in her bed watching Gilmore Girls. She liked the show but kind of wished for something else to do. She had already seen three episodes in the last couple of hours, and she was growing bored. Then, like Harry had read her mind, she got a text from him asking if she wanted to go ice skating. She immediately replied with a "Yes, please. I've been dying of boredom."

He replied saying, "Well, I'm glad I was able to save your life. 🤪" She playfully rolled her eyes. She then typed out a question. "What time are you picking me up then?" She'd expected him to say 15 minutes at least, so she was surprised when the next message Harry sent was, "Look out your window, love."

She reluctantly unraveled herself from her blanket and peered out of her window onto the dark snow-covered yard, and sure enough, Harry was leaning against his car, waving at the window. He was illuminated by her porch light. She grinned and waved back at him. She closed her curtain and quickly put on an appropriate outfit for the occasion before heading outside. She ran to him and gave him a hug. "Harry! I didn't expect you to already be here!"

He laughed, "That was the point, I wanted to surprise you." He slipped out of the embrace and held her hand instead. "Let's get going." He spoke, leading her back to the warm car.

After a while of driving, they got to an outdoor ice skating place after about thirty minutes of going through slightly icy roads with little to no difficulty. "It feels like an eternity since the last time I've been here, Harry." She said, looking at him with both nervousness and excitement. She observed the ice skaters who had already been on the rink enjoying themselves. "Me too. But I'm sure we can figure it out together. It doesn't look that hard."

With that, they went over to a ticket booth and bought admission tickets to go skating. They then went to the building where the skates were located. While Y/n had been browsing, looking for a pair of skates in her size, she felt Harry lightly tap her shoulder, trying to get her attention. When she turned around, she was met with Harry grinning and offering her a pair of skates that had been in her size. "How sweet of you." She said, taking them from him to go to a bench to put them on.

When she sat on the bench to put the skates on, Harry had trailed behind her. As she was about to tie the skates, Harry gently took her hands and placed them back towards her. "Here, let me." She quietly laughed, feeling slight butterflies in her stomach. He knelt in front of her and began to lace the skates moderately tightly. Some of his hair fell in front of his face, and he shook it away. Y/n watched him as he focused on her laces and felt her heart swell. As much as she liked being independent, she found his actions to be very cute.

When he was done, Y/n spoke. "You didn't have to do that, you know that, right? I know how to tie my skates." He simply got back up from the ground and smiled. "Yeah, well. I'm treating you tonight. Now come on." He said, tilting his head towards the rink.

Harry offered his hand for her to take so she wouldn't fall over. Y/n wobbled over to the rink while Harry tried his best not to laugh.

Once Y/n got to the rink, Harry left to go get his skates. She leaned against the wall, waiting for him to come back. He ran back and put on his skates. And just like Y/n had done, he too struggled to get to the rink. She suppressed her laugh with her hand. He managed to get there, though, and transitioned from the ground to the ice quite gracefully. Y/n stepped onto the ice after him, and he held his hand out to help steady herself. "Thanks," she said as she took his hand in hers.
