"Y/n. We're here. You gotta wake up, love." I felt someone's warm hand gently nudge my shoulder, and I stirred in my seat. "Five more minutes..." I slurred my words, trying to find a comfortable position to continue sleeping. I pressed my face into the seat belt, and I heard a hearty laugh from beside me. "Well, fine. If you want to stay and sleep in the car, that's fine. I guess I'll just have to ride all the rides by myself."

My eyes immediately shot open, and I jolted forward. "You wouldn't dare." I said, turning to look at him, still half awake. He looked at me and smiled, still half joking. "I would."

I quickly shook the grogginess out of my system and looked out the window. I knew that Liam was going to be taking me to a fair, but the calming night and the slightly chilly air made me a bit sleepy on the way here.

I eventually unbuckled my seat belt and opened the car door. When I stepped out, I was immediately hit with a wave of cold air. My body involuntarily shivered, and I began to rub my hands up and down my arms in an attempt to generate some heat.

I felt someone's presence sneak up behind me. A voice then began to speak. "I told you it would be a bit chilly, did I not?" Liam said, like an absolute parent. I just rolled my eyes at him. "Yes, I knew that it was going to be cold, just not this cold." I then began to walk away, smirking to myself as I saw him running to catch up with me.

As we came closer to the fair grounds entrance, the lights around me grew brighter. It was a sight to see. As I was caught in amazement, someone grabbed my hand. "I bet you the lights are even prettier from up above." Liam said while looking around the fairground. He then looked at me with a huge grin plastered on his face. "So... what ride do you want to go on first?"

I smiled at him. "I think we should get something to eat first. I'm starving." Liam looked at me for a brief moment and then back out to the fairground. He was scouting the area. As I was watching him do this, I noticed his gaze resting upon one stand longer than the rest. The next thing I knew, he was gently pulling me in the direction of a candied apple stand. I laughed at his childishness as he continued to drag me along.

He let go of my hand, and I watched him walk up to the stand and order us two caramelized apples. As he was doing this, I took a moment to look around me and observe all the rides that were there. So many different things going on all at once. A beautiful kind of chaos.

I had been taken out of my trance when I noticed Liam walking back towards me with two candied apples. He extended his hand out for me to grab the apple, and I gladly took it. I took a bite, and right as I went to take another one afterward, I heard a quick click.

I looked up surprised and noticed that Liam had taken a picture with his phone of the two of us. My eyes widened, and my cheeks flushed in embarrassment. That probably would have been a great photo if it hadn't been for the pose I'd been in. "Liam!" I said as he laughed while looking at his phone. "Y/n, I promise it doesn't look bad." I tried grabbing it from him, but he pulled it just out of my reach. (I ain't gonna do the 'he holds it over his head' thing because tall queens exist, and they could probably take it from him if they so very pleased.)

This went on for a bit. I'd go to grab it, but he'd move his arm out of the way every time. Eventually, I sighed and gave up. "I'm just messing with you, Y/n." His laughter died down, and eventually, it just settled down to a smile. He smiled at me sweetly, and he gave me his phone to delete the photo. "You can delete it if you want, but just know that I thought you looked really cute in it." He said, shrugging. At first, I dismissed his compliment, but as my finger lingered over the delete button, I took a look at myself and Liam. I paused, as I didn't really look as bad as I thought I would've. Not to mention, there was a huge grin on Liam's face. Not knowing what I should do, I stood there conflicted for a moment. Eventually, I reluctantly sighed and just handed Liam his phone back.
