Elaenys found herself wandering the slightly dimmed halls of the Keep, her thoughts heavy with the tension that had settled over their home since Daemon, Rhaenyra, and her bastard children had arrived. It seemed as though everyone was walking on eggshells, trying to avoid any conflict while still clinging to the grudges of the past.

As she turned a corner, lost in her thoughts, she nearly collided with her father. She stepped back quickly, a bit startled. "

"Father"

she said, her voice a mix of surprise and respect.

Her father, ever the stoic figure, looked down at her with a mixture of concern and weariness.

"Elaenys"

he acknowledged, his tone even but carrying an undercurrent of the same tension that seemed to permeate the air.

For a moment, they stood in silence, the weight of unspoken words hanging between them. Elaenys could see the strain in her father's eyes, the burden of leadership and the constant effort to maintain peace within the Keep. She took a deep breath, deciding it was time to address the elephant in the room.

"Father, I know things have been difficult since your arrival..."

she began cautiously.

"But we cannot continue like this, Jacaerys and Aemond are at each other's throats- just alike Alicent and Rhaenyra. There must be a way for them to coexist."

Her father sighed, his expression softening slightly.

"You are right, I shall speak to Rhaenyra about Jacaerys. You try and talk some sense into Aemond- it seems like he listens to you."

Elaenys nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope. Perhaps, with time and effort, they could bridge the chasm that had formed between them and find a way to move forward.

Elaenys and Daemon continued their walk through the Keep, the silence between them filled with the unspoken words and emotions of years gone by. As they moved through the corridors, the soft glow of torches cast long shadows on the stone walls, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere.

"Do you remember when we used to walk these halls together?"

Elaenys asked, her voice soft.

"Before everything changed."

Daemon glanced at her, a hint of nostalgia in his eyes.

"Yes, those were simpler times."

he replied, his tone reflective.

They walked on, their steps echoing in the empty corridors, until they found themselves at the training grounds. The vast expanse was eerily quiet, not a single soul in sight. It was a rare moment of solitude, a stark contrast to the usual hustle and bustle of the Keep.

Elaenys looked around, taking in the empty grounds.

"It's strange to see this place so quiet"

she remarked.

"It feels like a different world."

Daemon nodded, a small smile playing on his lips.

"Indeed."

He paused, then added.

"I regret that we haven't been spent more time together, Elaenys. After I married Rhaenyra, things changed, and I grew apart from you. But know that you have always been in my thoughts."

Elaenys felt a lump in her throat, emotions welling up inside her.

"I understand, father."

Elaenys felt a rush of emotions as she heard her father's words. It wasn't just Rhaenyra who had come between them; it was also the fact that they were so much alike. Both strong-willed and fiery, one wrong word from either of them could ignite a storm. They had avoided each other, knowing that their tempers would often clash, leading to heated arguments.

But tonight was different. There was a sense of calm and understanding that hadn't been there before. Elaenys looked at Daemon, seeing the vulnerability in his eyes, and felt a pang of regret for all the lost time.
