3rd person pov.
it was now the official first day of staying at the beach house. Akira couldn't lie, she was probably the most excited.
the night before they had spoken about the rooming situation so no one would get confused. Someone had to be alone or in a group of three.
The roommates were Nelson and Jalil, Rio and Bella, Akira, Irene, and Ella, and lastly, Sarah would be alone. They also decided to allow parents to visit for their comfort.
currently, Irene was in her designated room in the beach house, Sarah and Akira were sitting on the bed as she put her and Ella's clothes in the drawers and closet.
she didn't expect Sarah to start swooning over Nelson right before them.
Sarah sighs dramatically "Oh my god he's so fine ! I wish I were rooming with him," she says as she falls back on the bed and stares at the ceiling.
Irene's face becomes expressionless. She raises her eyebrows a bit in surprise as the two girls share a look. Akiras mouth opens a bit before she makes an excuse.
"oh! I don't think he's looking for something right now Sarah." She says. Sarah looks at her a bit surprised.
"what do you mean! I'm everyone's crush, how could he not want me ?" she says in a tone that was meant to seem playful but didn't sound like it to the two other girls.
Irene couldn't lie, Sarah was pretty, and she was perfect. she had blonde hair, blue eyes, and amazing facial harmony.
but was she all that? no. she had an embarrassing attitude, only around boys though. She would change herself completely.
her voice would become high-pitched, her personality would take a full 180 and she'd become extremely loud.
"I'm sorry Sarah, but I'm just saying the truth. and, Jalil said he's focusing on basketball and high school right now." Akira continues.
they continue talking as Irene finishes putting clothes away. she grabs her book, 'Seige and Storm' to continue as she watches them.
"I'm done if you guys wanna start heading down to the others! I think they are playing basketball"
the trio nods and begins walking downstairs, following Sarah who forced herself to the front of the group.
Akira silently tells Irene she's sorry and Irene just nods. it wasn't Akira's fault, she didn't even know Sarah would be so in love with Nelson.
when they reach the backyard they see Ella sitting with Bella on a beach chair, working on a coloring book as the boys play basketball.
Irene and Akira go sit on one of the beach chairs. Irene sits up and stretches herself out as Akira squeezes next to her and lays her head on her shoulder.
Sarah goes straight to the basketball court and stands next to Nelson. She holds her hand out and asks for the ball.
"Can I shoot one ?" she asks in her usual pick-me voice. nelson looks confused but nods and hands her the ball.
after about 2 minutes of her just shooting, and missing every shot, Nelson got bored. he was ignoring her forced giggles after every shot.
unknowingly to Nelson, Sarah wanted him to have his attention on her. so when he walked over to sit next to Irene, she was surprised.
"hey Riri," Nelson says as Akira gets out of the chair to let them have some privacy. he sits in Akira's spot and wraps his arm around Irene.
she keeps her focus on her book, it was getting to a good part. "hey, how long y'all been playing ?" she asks curiously.
