Ever since y/n and Ben had become friends and she took him out to pick up his mood, and that day, they met a couple of children too, Ben just started loving children.

Just because of her.

As Ben and y/n stayed with the children
just then, Liberty appeared.

"Actually, Ben is my prince." Turns out she was hiding somewhere near the whole time.

One of the children, a little girl with pigtails, scrunched her nose and said.

"We don't like you. We like Y/n more."

"Yeah, you're mean! Y/n is the real princess!" Another one chimed in.

Liberty's smile faltered, and she looked taken aback. Ben couldn't help himself as he almost laughed at the children's blunt honesty.

Ben who was still smiling, knelt down to the children's level.

"Hey, now. Let's be nice to everyone. But thank you for saying such kind things about Y/n."

The children giggled, and y/n  felt a warm flush in her cheeks.

Liberty, however, was clearly displeased. She shot her a glare before turning on her heel and walking away, leaving the children and the moment of truth behind.

.

The evening progressed, and soon it was time for dinner. The team and various mayors gathered around the long elegantly set table.

Conversations filled the room, but Ben's focus was solely on Y/n. His eyes followed her every move, watching as she interacted with others, her laughter and smiles lighting up the room.

She  could feel his  gaze on her. She tried to focus on the conversation at hand, but her mind kept drifting back to Ben. Despite her best efforts, she couldn't bring herself to meet his gaze.

As the meal continued, she felt her heart race whenever she sensed his eyes on her.

Ben's leg accidentally brushed against hers under the table. The brief contact sent a jolt through her, and she quickly glanced up to see if it was intentional.

Ben's eyes met hers, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. His expression was  of surprise and something deeper, something that made her heart skip a beat.

He quickly pulled his leg back, muttering a quiet apology.

"Sorry" He said, trying to sound casual.

"It's okay." She replied,  and her voice was barely above a whisper.

.

As the event concluded, everyone made their way back to the building and to their rooms. Liberty's anger increased as she watched Ben's focus was only  on Y/n throughout the evening.

Deciding to confront y/n, she stormed to her room.

Liberty barged in without knocking.

"Stay away from Ben.He's mine."

Y/m looked up, and was genuinely confused.

"What are you talking about?"

"You heard me. Ben's mine. Don't think you can come between us."

Before Y/n could respond, Liberty lashed out with her powers, sending y/m crashing into the wall. Y/n in crumpled to the floor and was severely hurt.

Instead of fighting back, she looked up at Liberty and began to laugh, a painful, hollow sound.Liberty, taken aback by the reaction paused.
