"Well I'm here," Kenan said.
"These will look perfect on my kitchen counter," Chiara said. They walked hand in hand through the campus for a little bit. Everyone was smiling, the air was a calm breeze and it finally felt like summer. "Have you ever thought about what you'd do, if you went to college?"
"Not really, I just spent so much of my life obviously focused on football I didn't ever have another option."
"Oh come on, maybe you'd wanna be a writer," Chiara said. "You always talk about poetry, and read it, I know you."
"Ok, fair," Kenan said. "But it's only because I finally found someone like you that matches all the love poems in the world."
She blushed.
As soon as they got to the car, Kenan drove them to her place so she could put the flowers in a vase. Once they were in the kitchen, Chiara turned on the speaker and "Lover" by Taylor Swift started playing.
She took his hands and pulled him to the open area and started dancing with him. Barefoot in the kitchen, it felt like sacred new beginnings. It was their place, they could make their own rules.
Kenan smiled at her as she mouthed the lyrics to the song. She was his lover. He was hers. He swayed to the beat holding his hands around her waist and she placed her head in his shoulder.
After the song ended Chiara said, "Are you feeling like it's been a while since," Chiara teased. "Since you know."
"Oh I see how it is," Kenan said and grabbed her arm taking her to the bedroom. The door was shut, their clothes were quickly thrown off and they had sex.
Chiara missed his taste, she missed the feeling of his lips on hers and his teeth in the side of her neck. She missed his smell, she missed it all. She gripped his back hard and pulled him onto her, wanting to feel the rush from him.
"I love you so damn much, Chiara."

"You're with the National Team for how long?" Chiara asked, now that he had to leave in a week.
"For a month, we play four games," Kenan said. "We train in Istanbul. Why don't you come with me? I would love it a lot."
"Oh yeah, I don't have any summer plans yet," she said. "I've never actually been to Turkey, when was the last time you went."
Kenan knew this is where he'd have to tell her. He didn't want to lie either or make up a shitty excuse. He couldn't do that to her. "I went... a few weeks ago for a weekend. My cousin got married."
"Oh my God, why didn't you tell me," Chiara seemed annoyed and Kenan started to feel like he fucked up somehow.
"I didn't want to annoy you, it was like your exams, I was just there briefly...it's fine."
Chiara looked into her eyes, "I don't think it's fine because you look like you're hiding something. I need to be able to have you communicate with me. I'm not going to be mad." Her face had a softer expression now.
Kenan paused. "My dad was there, he already has a new girlfriend, whatever and he got mad at me."
"Mad in what way?"
"You know," Kenan said refusing to make eye contact with her or else he'd cry.
"I'm going to Turkey with you, I'm going to talk sense into him I'm serious. He crosses me, and you'll never hear from him again." Chiara was fuming. "Does your mom know all this?"
"No he threatened me not to tell."
"Well let's get those plane tickets right now because it's not going to pretty once I talk to him." Chiara said.

"This might be the most random thing I've done," Kenan said boarding a train to Milan with Chiara. Early in the morning Sofia had texted Chiara that she can't make it to a concert with Chiara and was super upset about it, so Chiara asked Kenan to go with her. They were going to go to the Eras Tour. "I'm excited though."
"Here," Chiara said, handing him a bracelet she made on the train. It was white beads spelling out the word "reputation" with black and white beads around it.
"Wait im going to make you one," Kenan said grabbed the box of beads. He covered the letters he took in order for it to be a surprise and then he handed her the bracelet.
"Kenan Yıldız, my boyfriend," Chiara laughed. "This is the one you made me. These are supposed to be so you can trade them."
"Ohh," Kenan said. "Well if you trade that one away, I'm gonna cry."
"I won't, don't worry," Chiara said. "It'll be fun though."
The train dropped them off in Milan then they took an Uber to the stadium. Chiara had seats all the way in the nosebleeds and Kenan looked over the whole stadium. He had played there so many times against AC Milan and Inter. Being there with Chiara made it seem more exciting even.
"You look so pretty with your sparkle skirt and everything," Kenan said placing his hand on her butt.
Chiara slapped his hand away, "this is not the place," and laughed.
The show started and Kenan smiled as she sang every word to every song. When Lover came on, Kenan shouted over the noise, "this is the one we just danced to".
"Can we always be this close, forever and ever you're my my my my, lover," she sang to him. He kissed her once the song ended. The crowd of 80,000 people was nothing to them, where they could feel like the only two people in the stadium watching.
"This part is a surprise," Chiara explained as Taylor took the guitar and started to adjust the mic.
Kenan didn't really know the songs well, just the popular ones but he realized how much he loved the lyrics. They were perfect.
"Darling it was good, and never looking down, and right there where we stood, was holy ground, ... deep blue but you painted me golden... tonight I'm gonna dance for all that we've been through, but I don't wanna dance, if I'm not dancing with you... but we were dancing, dancing with our hands tied."
The music carried through the night and the choir of the crowd singing along was the most magical feeling.
Chiara was jumping up and down with joy and then the songs on piano started. Kenan was so in awe of the performance, he was honestly so glad that he was able to go with her.
"Losing grip on sinking ships, you showed up just in time, now that I know better I will never lose my baby again... and when you're young you just run, but you come back to what you need, this love is good this love is bad... but it's gonna be alright, I did my time."
The songs ended and Kenan hugged Chiara tight. It felt like the concert was the soundtrack to their lives. There was a song for everything and he felt that. And at least it allowed him to forget his worries for a little while.
