Alex woke up in the middle of the night to the phone ringing. El and Hopper were sound asleep, so Alex answered it. "Hello?" She asked. All she got in response was heavy breathing. She recognised it but couldn't place who it was. "Hello? Who is this?" She got no response and just hung up the phone assuming it was a prank call and went back to sleep.

Alex was getting ready to meet Max when El walked into her room. "Mike's acting weird." She confessed. "Come with me." Alex said but before they left Alex phoned Steve.
"Hey, I'm going to spend the day with El and Max. Something's up with your least favorite child. Tell Dustin I'm sorry I won't be able to see him today. And don't under any circumstances tell him about us. I love Dustin but he can't keep his mouth shut." Alex informed.
"Will do. See ya later. I love you." He said before hanging up. Alex's eyes went wide. Neither of them had said that. On the other line Steve was cursing himself. He didn't mean to say that. It's not that he didn't mean it. He was just scared to tell her and now he did by accident.
"We need to see Max." Alex said to El.
Alex got on her bike and El climbed on the back. On the way there Alex explained what happened with Steve. Once they got to Max's, Alex and El got off the bike and walked towards her picking up the skateboard and handing it back to her.
"Hi." El greeted. "Hi?" Max repeated.
"Can we talk?" El asked. "A lot has happened." Alex smirked. She was glad that Max and El could finally become friends.

"And then he said he missed me and then he just hung up." El had finished explaining what had happened to Max. El was sitting on the edge of Max's bed while Alex was laying down on it. Max was pacing when she said. "He's a piece of shit."
"That's why he's Steve's least favorite." Alex chuckled. "What?" El asked Max.
"Mike doesn't have jack shit to do today and his Nana obviously isn't sick. I guarantee yoy him and Lucas are playing Atari right now." Max stopped pacing.
"But friends don't lie." El stated. "Yeah well, boyfriends lie. All the time." Max said. Alex sat up next to Max who had plopped down on the bed.
"You're going to stop calling him, you're going to ignore his calls. As far as you're concerned he doesn't exist." Max instructed.
"Doesn't exist?" El questioned. "He treated you like garbage. You're gonna treat him like garbage. Give him a taste of his own medicine." Max advised.
"Give him the medicine." El said making Alex chuckle.
"Mhm. And if he doesn't fix this, If he doesn't explain himself. Dump his ass." Max stated before turning to Alex. "What's up with Steve?" she asked.
"I called him to tell him that i was spending the day with you two and he said that was fine. But before he hung up... he told me he loved me." Max's eyes went wide.
"I have an idea. Come on." She said before dragging the siblings up. "Where are we going?" El asked. "To have some fun. There's more to life then stupid boys you know. And Alex can speak to Steve once we're there." Max smirked.
