"Nott, mind your own business, will you?" Roman said, folding his arms.
"As far as I'm concerned, Devereux is my business, sweetheart." Theodore's tone was dripping with sarcasm as he slipped his arm around her shoulder. "Now off you go. She wants you to leave, so you're gonna leave." The threat was implicit.
Roman shot a glance between them. "What? I ditched you, and now you're already chumming up to the higher-ups? Low blow, Lia." He clutched his chest in a dramatic gesture.
Eulalia's irritation boiled over. "For the record, Prewett, I broke up with you. You cheated, and I walked. Even if I were fooling around with Theodore, it's none of your business. But if I were, you'd be the first to know, sweetheart," she said, echoing Theodore's sarcasm. Theodore grinned, suppressing a chuckle.
Roman, clearly fuming, glared at the pair. "I'll let it slide— it's just a phase anyway," he said, retreating slowly before turning and striding off.
Eulalia watched him disappear down the hall. "Blimey, you've got quite the mouth on you," she muttered. Theodore removed his arm from her shoulder, turning to her with a grin. He froze when he saw the tears welling up in her eyes. "Don't cry, I don't do crying," he said awkwardly.
Before Theodore could say more, Eulalia buried her face in her hands. Theodore looked on, unsure how to react, and patted her back uncomfortably, as though trying to avoid contact. "There, there," he said softly.
Eulalia pulled her face out of her hands, her pale skin flushed. "What's wrong with you?"
"I tried," Theodore shrugged and pulled his hand away. "What are you crying for anyway? Who in their right mind dates Roman Prewett?" he quipped, only to receive a sharp backhand to his stomach, causing him to groan. "Aggression isn't always the answer."
Eulalia mimicked his voice mockingly before rolling her eyes and walking away. Theodore lingered for a moment before hurrying after her. "Heading to the common room?" he asked.
"Yes— why are you even here? Are you following me?" She stopped in her tracks.
"Firstly, Draco wants to see you. Secondly—
what you don't know won't hurt you." Theodore flashed a brief smile before steering her in the direction of the common room. He continued to push the girl by her shoulders until they were in the dungeons, and soon heading into the common room."Well?" Eulalia stopped, looking around. "He's not here— oh well." She tried to head towards the girls' dormitory, but Theodore yanked her by the collar, pulling her back towards the boys' dormitory. "Surprise," he muttered.
"No. No way." She shook her head, trying to wriggle free.
"Don't fight it, I'll drag you in if I have to," Theodore said, nudging her towards the entrance. "Although, I'd rather not, so stop being a pain," Eulalia whined like a petulant child as Theodore maneuvered her through the boys' dormitory until they reached the right door. He flung it open and shoved her inside, following her in.
Pansy and the others turned their heads to look. "You don't need to be so pushy, you know," Pansy said to Theodore, who calmly sat on his bed. Theodore mimicked her tone before flopping back, leaving Eulalia standing by the door. Draco regarded her silently.
"If you so much as touch that doorknob, next time I'll duct tape your hands and mouth like you're a right hostage," Theodore warned, glaring at his wand. Eulalia hadn't even made a move to escape, but he knew her well. She rolled her eyes and folded her arms.
"Very funny," she replied sarcastically.
"Have you been crying?" Draco asked, squinting at her.
