Chapter 35 - Training

                                    

                                          
Harley was standing with Nik, Elijah, Rebekah, Isaak, Trevor, Pearce, and Bella watching Jasper and Emmett spar. Jasper threw Emmett back and Emmett hit the ground and exclaimed "Again!" as he got up.
They all watched as the wolves approached.
"They don't trust us enough to be in their human form. They trust Harley and her family though." Edward says after reading their minds. 
Embry walks over to Harley, who smiles at him before petting his head. "Hey, Embry." Harley says with a smile.
"They came. That's all that matters. Will you translate?" Carlisle asks and Edward nods. Carlisle steps in front of his coven and addresses the wolves. "Welcome. Jasper has experience with newborns. He'll teach us how to defeat them."
"They want to know how newborns differ from us." Edward says for the wolves.
"They're a great deal stronger than us because their own human blood lingers in their tissues. Our kind is never more physically powerful than in our first several months of this life." Carlisle says before turning and nodding at Jasper. Jasper nods before stepping up to where Carlisle was with his hands behind his back in a military stance.
"Carlisle's right. That's why they are created. A newborn army doesn't need thousands like a human army. But no human army could stand against them." Jasper says to the wolves before addressing both the wolves and the vampires as he starts pacing. "Now, the two most important things to remember are, first, never let them get their arms around you. They'll crush you instantly. And second, never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that. And you will lose." Jasper says and then turns to call Emmett. "Emmett."
Emmett and Jasper get into a fighting stance. "Don't hold back." Jasper says.
"Not in my nature." Emmett responds and then runs at Jasper.
Jasper stands there and smirks. Emmett pushes Jasper back but Jasper has his feet planted on the ground. Emmett throws Jasper behind him and then Jasper gets up and runs at Emmett, he dodges Emmett's punch and Jasper punches him causing him to land on the ground. "Never lose focus." Jasper says.
Next Edward and Carlisle fight. Jasper paces as he watches them. Edward dodges Carlisle's punches and then pushes him on the ground with a hand to his chest. He then stands and looks at Jasper.
"One more thing." Jasper says and Carlisle jumps up and brings Edward to the ground. "Never turn your back on your enemy." Jasper says sassily causing Harley to laugh. 
Jasper nods and Rosalie throws a punch that Jasper dodges. She throws another and Jasper dodges it again. Jasper punches her and Rosalie spins in the air and lands in a spiderman-like crouch. 
The last ones up are Jasper and Alice. Jasper tries to grab Alice but she dodges. He smirks and goes to punch her but Alice dodges again. Then he runs at her but Alice cartwheels behind him. Jasper keeps trying to punch Alice, but Alice keeps dodging. Jasper then grabs Alice by her biceps. He moves one hand to pinch her chin and then moves to kiss her. Alice then backs away, pushes his arms off of her and hops in the tree above them. Jasper looks around but doesn't see her. Alice then jumps down off the tree and onto Jasper's back. Noah looks at her and Alice gives him a peck on his lips before hopping off his back.
"Sam says he wants to see the Originals spar." Edward says for him.
"Yeah, Nik, Elijah. Show them how it's done." Rebekah says.
"Yeah. Come on Dad. Uncle Elijah. I want to see it too." Harley says
Nik looks at Elijah with a shrug.
"Oh alright." Elijah says as he takes off his suit jacket, hands it to Rebekah and then rolls up his sleeves.
Nik and Elijah go into the center of the field. They nod to each other and run to attack. Elijah tries to punch Nik, but Nik dodges and throws him back into a tree. Elijah stands and speeds over to Nik and lands a punch, sending him back a few yards. 
"Yeah, come on Elijah! Kick is arse!" Rebekah says
"Go dad!" Harley says
They go back and forth for a while exchanging blocks and blows when Nik gets the upper hand on his elder brother and pins him down to the ground with his fangs near his neck. Harley cheers for him as Nik stands up and helps Elijah up.
