Chapter FIFTEEN

My eyes fluttered open as soon as my alarm goes off. I jolted awake only to regret when I realized my head is throbbing as hell.

Oh my God? What happened last night? Wasn't I in a club with Hani and her friends? How did I get here? Why don't I remember anything?!

I stared at the wall for 5 minutes, trying to recall everything that happened last night when my door busted open, revealing Spencer with his dreaded look.

"Good morning." I greeted.

"It's afternoon." Wait, I was asleep for how long?? "...Look I need to talk to you about something."

"Oh um I haven't brush my teeth so my breath might--"

"Why are you sending me back to the U.S?"

I was surprised, oh I haven't brought this up with him as my thoughts are clouded with so many things.

"Oh....did you hear it from mom?"

"And you're not planning to tell me?" He sounded so irritated but he got it wrong.

"No, I was but I forgot about it already. But now you know it, yes. I wanted to talk to you about sending you back home first." I said in a calm tone while tying my hair up.

"And why is that??" His eyebrow raised, waiting for my answer.

"It's for your own safety."

"My safety? And why the sudden concern for my safety?" He crossed his arms over his chest as if being suspicious with my sudden decision to send him back home.

"Look, there's been bad guys roaming around the area, kidnapping people and selling their organs. I can't look after you 24-7 hence, the decision." I tried my best to look at him straight in his eyes while lying. I am not the best liar but I can't just admit that I was abducted and was nearly killed.

"I can look after myself."

I shook my head, "Still. It's better to be safe than sorry."

"Are you hiding something?" His sudden question made me react.

"What?"

"Cause you seem really suspicious right now and I can tell that you're hiding something from me." He squinted his eyes as if trying to catch me.

"I'm not kidding, Spencer. I'm just really looking out for you, I mean, you've spent enough time here right? You can just come back next year or next few months if you want." I tried my best to hide the nervousness in my voice as possible since I'm not really good at lying but I can't risk telling the truth to my brother.

"Yeah but I still want to hang out with my friends so it's not enough time."

At this point, Spencer is stressing me out. I don't know how else I'm gonna convince him to go back to U.S. But I can't show him that or else he'll get more suspicious.

"Spencer--"

"Fine fine, I'm going back."

My eyes widened, not believing what I heard, "Wait, what?"

"I'm going back. I still don't believe your reason but I'll trust you for whatever it is."

"You're not mad?"

"Just suspicious but yeah, like you said, I can come back here anytime I want. Anyway, when should I leave?"

"Whenever you're ready." I smiled.
