For my Discord girls. Thank you for letting me borrow your characters.

It was the hottest day of the summer. Charlotte and Melvina were lying in the garden behind Charlotte's parents' house in Cragcroft and drinking ice-cold lemonade that quickly became warm as piss. "I'm melting," groaned Melvina. "Me too," Charlotte agreed. An annoying squeak from Bob and Frank agreed with the two girls. "We should go to the beach," suggested Melvina. "Then we can cool off a bit." "Great idea. Let's invite the girls." Charlotte reached for her cell phone. "Or not?" Melvina giggled and nodded. "Come on, write in the group chat." Grinning, Charlotte typed the message and sent it. "Let's go!"

The girlfriends quickly packed their bags and prepared some snacks. Of course, Bob and Frank couldn't be missing. The two creatures climbed into Melvina's bag and made themselves comfortable between a pack of oat biscuits and a lunchbox full of watermelon.

As soon as everything was prepared and packed, they used the floo flames to get to the beach. So far, Alienor, Cornelia, Poppy, Imelda and Natty have promised to come to the beach. Well, Alienor had only sent a "thumbs up". That was all you could expect from the grumpy Ravenclaw.

"I can taste the sea," Charlotte sighed contentedly as they stepped out of the green flames. And soon we'll be able to see and feel it too," Melvina chuckled and intertwined her fingers with Charlotte's. Hand in hand, they strolled around the sand-coloured wall to the beach. The hot sand trickled into their sandals, and the two girls decided to get rid of their shoes and go barefoot instead, accompanied by a few ahs and ouchs.

"Look! Three are already here." Charlotte nudged Melvina with her elbow and nodded towards the three figures struggling with a large green checked blanket. "Why can't we just do magic?" Imelda could be heard moaning from afar. "That would be much quicker. And it wouldn't be so tiring." "Says the one who sits on the broom all day. As if that wasn't tiring," Cornelia countered. "It's tiring differently," Imelda replied. "Now shut your mouths and stand still!" Veronica snapped. "I'm trying to do magic, but you have to hold the blanket tight, you idiots."

"OUCH! The blanket bit me!" Cornelia screamed and let go of her corner. Imelda was immediately wrapped in the vast blanket. "GET IT OFF ME!" she screamed and thrashed around wildly in an attempt to free herself. Veronica sighed and waved her wand. Immediately, the blanket fell off Imelda and folded neatly on the floor. "Please remind me never to buy anything from Borgin and Burkes again if that crazy guy wants to recommend something to me."

Shocked, Imelda looked at her with wide eyes. "You bought that thing from Borgin and Burkes? No wonder it wanted to kill us," she hissed, angrily straightening her ponytail. "It didn't want to kill you. It just didn't want us to spread it," Veronica tried to calm the black-haired Slytherin. A growl from the blanket made her flinch. "Well. And above all, it didn't want us to sit on it," she added, looking suspiciously at the blanket. "Too bad I don't have the receipt anymore. Maybe I can scare some first years with it. Or I can set them on the Gryffindors. These losers can use a bit of excitement. Let's see how brave they really are.

Charlotte stepped behind Veronica and cleared her throat. "I didn't hear that, Hem." Veronica turned around, beaming with joy. "Hunter! Bitch, you're the exception. You know you're my favourite lioness. But I'd pay money to see Prewett shit himself in fear." Charlotte stifled a laugh. She would like to see that too.

Veronica waved her wand and made a giant picnic blanket appear, big enough for two Quidditch teams. She stuffed the grumbling blanket back into her bag. "Sit down, kids," she giggled, pointing to the large blanket. The five girls spread their things on the blanket, and a small buffet was set up in the middle. Each had brought something. Poppy, Natty, and Alienor had now joined them. The latter had put up a parasol and was dozing in the shade.
