Jaddu couldn't sleep at night. When he woke up in the morning his eyes were red and puffy. Yashu, his current roommate saw this and got tensed for his senior. "Was I snoring too loudly bhaiya ? You look like you haven't slept a wink at night." Yashu asked
"That is not the case Yashu. I just couldn't sleep." Jaddu assured him. He hid the truth about being unable to sleep without cuddling with Kul and listening to his light snoring.Kuldeep on the other hand was in deep slumber. Yuzi had been trying to wake him up for 10 mins. He had given all hope of ever waking Kul up and decided the next best step would be throw water on him. Splash.
"Tsunami!! Tsunami!! Jaddu bhai where are you ?" Kul screamed.
He opened his eyes only to his best friend chuckling at his concern for his ex-friend.
"You care so much about bhai." Yuzi laughed
"But he doesn't." Kul replied sadly
Not wanting to see his brother sad anymore, Yuzi decided to keep Kul under his wing all day. He pulled him up from the bed and sent him to the washroom. At the dining table, Jaddu had once again saved a seat for Kul. Yuzi saw this and though he felt bad for his jaddu bhai he decided to make Kul sit somewhere else. He himself occupied that chair and pointed at the chair between Virat bhai and Hardik to Kul. Kul settled in his seat only to find jaddu looking at him. In that one second of eye contact it felt as if they were the only two people present there. Kul saw how genuinely hurt jaddu's eyes looked as he didn't sit beside him. It looked like the eyes of the child who just lost his favourite toy. While Jaddu saw a thousand emotions in Kul's eyes. He could see Kul worried for him and at the same time as if he was upset and angry. Unable to take it anymore he broke the eye contact. Kul lowered his head.
Jaddu once again looked at Kul only to find himself mesmerised. He liked the way Kul's curls fell on his face. His lips looked plump as if they were almost eatable. Wait a minute. What was he thinking? What kind of thoughts was he having for his roommate? He mentally scolded himself.
Kul also looked at jaddu. He saw his dark circles. He wanted to ask him about them but before he could Rohit did the job.
"Why are your eyes so red jaddu?" Rohit questioned
"Nothing veer, just couldn't sleep last night." Jaddu replied
'Was it because of me?' Kuldeep mentally questioned and got lost in his thoughts. He suddenly got interrupted by a loud voice.
"Kuliya eat your breakfast. You need your energy for the beach today." Virat saidAfter eating breakfast, everyone went to their respective rooms to change and pack for the beach. Once again in complete solitude of their own room jaddu tried to initiate conversion. To his dismay he couldn't seem to form words. How would he tell Kul that the brave Rajput warrior who is not afraid of anything was afraid of his reaction. He was afraid that Kul might go away from him after hearing about his retirement. Or the fact that he found himself so weak in front of Kul that he might have ended up playing for a few more years at his one request.
While Jaddu was lost in his own thoughts Kuldeep found it the perfect time to slip away. He quietly went outside the door to avoid any confrontation which may show how weak he was. He wanted to be strong. He sighed as the door closed with a click.
Click.
Jaddu's chain of thoughts were interrupted at that sound. He found himself standing alone in his room. He had to talk to Kul at all costs. At the beach, jaddu was very disturbed. He couldn't pinpoint as to what exactly his feeling was but he knew the cause. He didn't like the way Yuzi sticked to Kul. He knew they were best friends but he did not like the skinship. He didn't like the way Kul removed his T-shirt because Yuzi told him to. He did not like how they shared a coconut. He did not like how Rishabh complimented Kul and he turned a bright shade of red. He did not like how Rohit hugged him while he was shirtless.
'Why was everyone today wanting to stick to his Kul?' He thought. 'His Kul? The words seemed sweet.' He looked at Kuldeep playing in the sea with Axar and Hardik. He noted his every movement as if trying to capture a picture. His eyes wandered from his chest to his toned legs. From afar it looked as if jaddu was going to devour the beauty any minute. His thoughts were interrupted by a noise.
"Jaddu! Oye raja ji. Suniye." Ashwin screamed.
"Yes." Jaddu replied. He mentally cursed himself for his thoughts. What had happened to him suddenly he wondered.
"Where are you lost? Come on let's go on the banana boat" Anna said. They settled on the banana boat with Virat in front. Followed by Rohit, Jaddu, Kul, Yuzi and Ashwin. The ride started slowly but suddenly the speed increased. Kul worried about falling hugged Jaddu from behind tightly. Jaddu's eyes widened and he forgot all about his surroundings. Kul's cold hand on his warm body felt like heaven. Kul's body pressed against his back made him go weak in his knees. He wanted to stay in that moment forever. He wanted his heart to stop beating loudly in his chest afraid that Kul might feel his heart rate. He did not know why he was feeling this way.
When the ride ended, Kul noticed their position. He quickly untangled his hand from jaddu's body and hoped off the boat. His face looked like a ripe tomato. He scurried back with his best friend knowing that he would not be able to meet jaddu's gaze. He mentally scolded himself for sticking to his senior like a moth to a flame and spent the rest of the evening avoiding him.
