azaria yawns a little when the movie credits roll, curling into gavi's side. her cheek was pressed to his chest and his arm holds her close. gavi gives her an affectionate squeeze at the waist, looking down at her drowsy expression.

"tired?" gavi asks. azaria nods with a sigh.  "let's go upstairs then."

"don't wanna move," she mumbles into gavi's shirt in protest, words muffled by the fabric. he chuckles lightly and retracts his arm, much to her dismay. with some coaxing, he manages to get azaria off the couch and up the stairs.

azaria's bedroom door is directly across gavi's in the hallway so she pauses outside her doorframe, staring at him. gavi's brown eyes are warm with affection as he returns her gaze. she didn't want to part from him, not yet.

she wishes they had just fallen asleep on the couch together. but she couldn't get the words out of her mouth. she was never one to ask for things, too shy when it came to that aspect in a relationship.

"well, goodnight." azaria settles for soft-spoken words instead, a small smile in his direction as she grips the doorframe with one hand. drinks in the way gavi's tousled hair sweeps over his forehead, pjama pants hanging low on his hips.

his adam's apple bobs as he swallows, eyes shifting to the side then back to her face.

"why don't you, uh- why don't you sleep in my room tonight?"

gavi's suggestion is a timid one, the sentence rushing out of his mouth uncertainly. he scratches the back of his head with one hand, a cute blush spreading on his cheeks.

azaria releases a breath didn't even know she was holding. so he didn't want to be away from her just yet, either. her heart flutters in her ribcage.

gavi's wide brown eyes gaze at her expectantly, as if afraid she'd say no. how could she even dream of saying no to him when he looked at her like that?

azaria's lips curl into a giddy smile. "yeah, okay."

gavi smiles back, his features softening with relief. "okay," he echoes. azaria snuggles up to him under the covers. when gavi wakes the next morning, azaria's back pressing into his chest, he doesn't think he's ever slept better.

the next night, azaria trudges upstairs, mind whirling with questions. what was she supposed to do? sleep in her own bed? but would that offend him? and what if she walked into his room without a word and he didn't actually want her there but is too scared to say anything?

it hit her that she'd have to ask. she cringes at the thought.

when she pokes her head into gavi's bedroom, she finds gavi already tucked under his covers. he he was already laying on one side of the bed, leaving the other half for her to sleep in.

azaria melts at the fact that she never even said anything, didn't have to. gavi had just known she'd want to sleep there from now on. it was natural, the way he understood her.

soon enough, azaria never saw the guest bed again. she always turned left into gavi's room instead of the spare bedroom, without a second thought. it became an unspoken agreement between them.
