I sat alone in the dimly lit room, my mind wandering to the expedition that had taken Levi away from me. It had been three days since he left, and I couldn't shake off the feeling of emptiness that had settled in my chest.
At first, I thought it was just concern for his safety, but as the hours ticked by, I realized it was more than that. I missed him.
I missed his piercing gaze, his sharp wit, and his quiet strength.
I found myself wondering what he was doing at that moment if he was safe, and if he was thinking of me too. The thought sent a flutter through my heart, and I knew I had to admit it to myself - I had developed feelings for Levi.
The revelation was both thrilling and terrifying. I had never seen Levi as more than a superior and ally, but now I couldn't deny the connection I felt with him.
As I sat there, lost in thought, I knew that I had to wait patiently for his return, hoping that he would come back to me safely, and maybe, just maybe, with feelings that mirrored my own.
The infirmary doors burst open, and a young recruit rushed in, out of breath. "It happened again!" he exclaimed, his eyes wide with fear. "The Colossus Titan has appeared, and it's broken through the wall! Titans are pouring in, and...and..."
He gulped, his voice trembling. "All the seniors are out on the expedition with Captain Levi and the commander. We're the only ones left. We have to go out there and...and kill them."
My heart sank, and I felt a surge of adrenaline. The Colossus Titan was the largest and most destructive of all the Titans. If it had broken through the wall, the situation was dire.
I quickly assessed the situation, my mind racing. We were a group of inexperienced recruits, with no superior officers to lead us. But we had to act fast or risk losing everything.
Gritting my teeth, adrenaline fueling my determination. Despite my injuries, I knew I had to act. I swung my legs over the side of the bed, wincing in pain, and forced myself to stand.
"Get my gear," I ordered the recruit, my voice firm. "Now."
He nodded, still looking frantic, and rushed to fetch my equipment. I took a deep breath, trying to shake off the dizziness and pain. I knew I wasn't in any shape to fight, but I had to try.
As the recruit returned with my gear, I took it from him, my hands shaking slightly. I strapped on my 3D maneuver gear, wincing as the weight settled onto my injured body.
"We can't let them breach the walls."
The recruit nodded, determination etched on his face. We knew it was a suicide mission, but we had to try.
For humanity's sake, we had to try.
"Let's go," I said, trying to sound braver than I felt. "We have to hold off the Titans until the expedition team returns."
The recruit nodded, and together we stumbled out of the infirmary.
I rode my horse at a gallop, the wind whipping through my hair as I sped towards the wall. My 3D maneuver gear was securely fastened, the blades and gas canisters bouncing against my legs as I rode. The Survey Corps clock on my back ticked away, its rhythmic beat matching the pounding of the horse's hooves.
The recruits followed closely, their eyes fixed on the Survey Corps clock, their faces set with determination. I knew they were scared, but they trusted me to lead them through this nightmare.
With every step, the sounds of chaos grew louder: crumbling buildings, screams, and the unmistakable roar of Titans.
I gritted my teeth, my hand on the hilt of my blade. It was time to face them. Time to protect our home.
"Stay close, follow my lead," I said, glancing back at the recruits.
I rode my horse to the base of the building, then sprang off its back, using the momentum to launch myself upwards. I activated my 3D maneuver gear, the grappling hooks shooting out to latch onto the roof's edge.
With a swift tug, I was lifted, my gear whirring as it reeled me in. I swung my legs over the edge, landing gracefully on the rooftop. The recruits followed, their gear whirring in unison as we gathered on the higher ground.
From this vantage point, we could see the Titans below, their massive bodies roaming the streets like giants. I gave a hand signal, and we spread out, forming a semi-circle around the rooftop's edge.
"Listen up!" I shouted above the din of the Titans. "We're about to face the worst humanity has to offer. But I know we can do this. We've trained for this moment. We've prepared for this fight."
I paused, scanning their faces. Fear, doubt, and uncertainty lingered in their eyes. I knew I had to ignite a spark within them.
"We're not just fighting for ourselves," I continued. "We're fighting for our families, our friends, and our home. We're fighting for the chance to live in a world without fear of being devoured."
My voice rose, passion and conviction poured out. "We're the Survey Corps, the elite of humanity's defense. We're the ones who will reclaim our world from the Titans' grasp."
I took a deep breath, my gaze burning with intensity. "So let's move out, recruits! Let's show the Titans the true meaning of courage and determination. For humanity! For our future!"
The recruits' faces set with newfound resolve, their eyes burning with a fire that mirrored my own.
I peered over the edge, my eyes scanning the streets for any sign of movement. The Titans were closing in, their footsteps shaking the buildings.
"Get ready," I readied my blade, the Survey Corps clock on my back ticking away with a sense of urgency. "They're coming."
