kushina and Kakashi took the lead while tazuna was in the middle of team 7, menma and naruko took the right side, Sasuke, and Sakura took the left side and Naruto was behind.
the journey was too quiet making young genins feel awkward until Sakura broke the silence by asking questions about the land of Wave.
sakura asks questions related to the mission and the land of Wave which somehow makes the journey a little interesting.
soon team 7 reached near a water puddle which was easily noticed by the jounin but they decided to hide this and see the team's abilities.
when Kakashi and kushina were about to pass the puddle but suddenly their bodies got grabbed by a chain and then torn into pieces.

team 7 took a close look at their enemy while they were guarding.
two men whose face was covered with iron masks, both had metal gauntlets on different hands which were connected by an iron chain with a blade around it.
both brothers rush to Genin and tazuna who cannot due to shock. both brother make some distance and strengthen their chain but before they get close to killing them, they feel a sudden pull from behind and the next they know they are thrown on the ground with a powerful force and are knocked out.
team 7 and tazuna look at Naruto who is holding the chain in his hand and his hand is bleeding.
naruto- *looks at a tree near them* come out you both.
Kakashi and kushina come out from behind the tree and Genin looks back at the place where their sensei died but sees 2 wooden logs.
menma- substituition jutsu.
genin understood everything while Kakashi and kushina looked at Genin with somewhat disappointing looks.
Kakashi- team 7, there was a lesson you need to learn; in the mission, if you are scared or hesitate then it gives your opponent a chance to kill you.
everyone except menma and Naruto put their head down in shame.
kushina- menma, that was a good choice to lead you lead in this type of situation *looks at Naruto with worried eyes* naruto, that was good that you defended your team but it was reckless, what would happen if there was poison in the weapon?
