Continuation of the Scene from 5 Years Before
Bar, Seoul
As the night wore on, both men remained aware of each other's presence; their silent war played out in the glances and glares exchanged across the room. The bar, once a place of escape, had become another battlefield in their endless rivalry. Jungkook couldn't help but remember what had happened six months ago.
SIX MONTHS AGO
January 2019
(From the present, 5.5 years ago)
HOTEL SELMERDO, 2:45 AM
The night was heavy with tension as Jungkook lay on the cold marble floor of a suite in the Park's hotel. His body was battered, bruised, and drugged. His associates had betrayed him, and now he was left at the mercy of his greatest rival, Park Jimin.
Jimin stood over him, looking amused and irritated simultaneously. "Look at you, Jeon, fallen from grace. I didn't expect to see you in this state."
Jungkook squinted through his pain, trying to sit up. "Enjoying the scene in front of you, Park? I should have known you'd be turned on seeing me like this." Mockery dripped from his voice.
Jimin bent down, analyzing Jungkook's wounds critically. "You're lucky I'm in a good mood tonight. Otherwise, I'd let you bleed out right here."
Jungkook spat out blood, his glare intensifying. "Save the dramatics, Jimin. If you wanted me dead, you would have had me by now."
Jimin smirked and pulled a first-aid kit from one of the drawers by the fridge. "You're right. But where's the fun in that? Besides, I'd rather see you live with humiliation."
He felt Jungkook's eyes narrow as Jimin started to clean and disinfect his wounds. "Since when did you become so magnanimous?"
Jimin's hands were quick as they moved over Jungkook's injuries, almost gentle despite the situation. "Think of it as a favor. One day, you'll owe me. And I always collect."
Jungkook laughed, feeling a bitter stabbing sensation. "I'll never owe you anything, Park."
Jimin's eyes darkened as he worked on cleaning the wounds on Jungkook's neck, though his voice remained calm. "We'll see about that. For now, let's just get you patched up so you can crawl back to whatever hole you came from."
Jungkook watched him work, anger mingling with begrudging respect. "Why didn't you join the others and finish me off?"
Jimin stopped, locking eyes with Jungkook. "Because after all that, I respect you as an enemy. Killing you like this is too easy. When the day finally comes that I bring you down, I want you to be at your best."
One corner of Jungkook's lips twisted into a mocking smile. "Touching. But don't think this makes us friends."
Jimin chuckled, shaking his head, as he finished dressing the last wound. "I wouldn't dream of it, Jeon. Just remember this moment the next time you think you can cross me."
As Jimin finished with the last wound, he stood up, looking down at Jungkook one last time. The drugs in Jungkook's system began to take effect, dulling his pain but also his mind. He looked up, his hand automatically reaching for Jimin's, stopping him before he could leave.
