A/N Every time I say that I don't want to get carried away, I get carried away. But seriously, I hope I don't get carried away.
1 Month Later
Percy POV
I awoke with a start. Today was Christmas eve. Normally one religion wouldn't celebrate another's holiday, but with some convincing Artemis agreed to have a Christmas party with the hunt.
I snapped my fingers changing my clothes. Placing my watch on my wrist and grabbing Riptide, I walked out of my tent. It was still dark at the moment. Not knowing how to train powers over time, I just kind of did whatever I could to try and train them.
Clearly, I was very powerful with control over time, I just didn't know how to use it well. So at the beginning of December, Artemis and I would train every morning at 0300.
The training was simple at first. Concentrating on small objects, and trying to freeze them in time. As the month progressed we started to get to larger objects.
All of that training led us to right now. I was going to try and freeze time for a person. Artemis had volunteered herself. All of this hopefully to pull a prank on the rest of the hunt.
After we had pranked Artemis with the snow, we both got pranked the next morning. Putting aside our differences, we decided to team up.
"Percy," Called a voice.
My gaze peeled away from the tree that I was staring at and I looked over to Artemis, "Artemis!" Standing in the moonlight, she looked beautiful. Her silver eyes looked more like miniature moons and her auburn hair was tied in a loose braid and put over her shoulder. Her whole body seemed to glow silver.
"Are you ready?" She asked, slight concern present in her voice
"Of course!" I replied.
She stood there for a moment, "When I jump, try to freeze me then."
"Okay, I'm ready." I looked up at the moon for a moment before looking back
"Three, two, one," she jumped up.
I stuck my hand out and focused on her. She seemed to slow down for a moment, as if going from a full sprint to being in very slow motion.
My concentration broke when a branch snapped behind me. I snapped around Riptide already in a defensive stance. I didn't see anything, then I looked down. "Selene?" I asked
The rabbit in question was Selene. She happily hopped over to me. "What's that?" Artemis asked
"Rabbit," I replied bluntly
"Obviously," Artemis playfully pushed against my shoulder
"I met her in New York." I reached down, with my hand summoning her some lettuce
"You met that rabbit in New York?" She asked surprised
"Her name is Selene. I met her just before I escaped from your infirmary." I replied as she nibbled on the lettuce.
Artemis reached down and stroked her ears. "Why is her name Selene?"
"She glows like the moonlight. I thought Artemis wasn't a good name, so I chose Selene." Selene had just finished the leaf and I summoned another one.
Artemis leaned closer to Selene, inspecting her more closely. Just like Artemis, she seemed to glow a silver hue in the moonlight. "Did you stop me?" Artemis looked over at me
"I didn't stop you, I just slowed you down." I looked back at Artemis
"That's great. It would be extremely useful in fights." She thought out loud
