Nightmare stared at his brother, he wanted to cry.. "King, this is Dream, I know I was a little jealous of him... but look at him... he's still Dream... and he's so hurt... you'll help him... won't you?" The phantom turned to the king of negativity, the boss of the insane Sans's... his split personality.

King sighed. "Men. We're taking the kid with us, he needs medical attention from Asylum immediately. Chef, pick him up." The king ordered refusing to meet sockets with his brothers twin.

Chef nodded. It was then they encountered a problem...

Chef touched Guardians arm as he tried to pick him up. Guardian froze...

Guardian didn't understand... everyone he'd ever met hurt him in some way, litteral children being the only exception. So when the large skeleton touched his arm... even though he could feel the kind intent radiating off him, he froze.

He was terrified. He was so, so scared.... he- he couldn't! He-he just- WHY?!

Nightmare watched horrified, eyelights pin prick small in concern and fear. "Do something!" He urged panicking for his twin as Guardian glitched violently, eyelights as he remembered for a fraction of a second... yet still so wrong layered and flickering images, the errors sporadically crowding his form..

Since before they ate the apples, the twins hadn't been able to sense each other as they kept their twin bond anchored down to stay private... Dream evidently doesn't remember... and having eaten a few of the apple's...

Dream was strongly broadcasting his emotions over the bond...

Pain, pain, pain, fear, pain, insecurity,  pain ,uncertainty,  pain, anxiety, fear, pain PAIN!!! Helpless! He was calling out for help.

A high pitch sound echoed in the clearing.

Error! Guardian Đ[ERROR! NAME NOT FOUND!] .EXE has crashed! Attempting reboot.

A strange bar appeared above guardians skull, the word rebooting trailing off on top.

It was very slowly loading. Nightmare covered his maur with both skeletal hands.

King frowned seeing Nightmare so concerned... he couldn't sense what Nightmare was... but from the look on his brothers face... Dream was suffering horribly...

"G-get him to base while he's put of it. I... I don't think he wants to be held by anyone in his current state... we should bring that soulless husk trying to poke my brother with us for questioning." Nightmare growled to his alternate personality.

King smiled fondly. This was why Nightmare was the prince... he had a good skull on his shoulders and could plan even under pressure... he admittedly had trouble keeping to a plan in an intense situation. "Grab the kid before he comes out of it, we'll put him in Asylum's care when we get back." King echoed the order.

He grabbed ink with his tendril himself. "Where are your vials Creator?" He asked concerned about dealing with an emotionless ink.

Ink blinked before gasping. " Cross has them! Bill wanted me to suffer the whole time so he made sure I took them but didn't like how it clashed with his clothes so had Cross carry them and I'm so, SO sorry!! I made a deal with Bill to confirm something about Trojan or... antivirus..? Yes that definitely works better because he's making sure the multiverse doesn't collapse because I'm an idi-" Ink was so chatty King did everyone the kindness of using the tape he usually used on killer for punishment to tape inks maur shut to keep the peace.

King grabbed cross as well. Rolling his eyelight as he opened a dark portal to their base in Dusttale. They moved as a single unit and returned to the familiar residence of the skeleton brothers household.

Nightmare hovered by Guardian worriedly.

Asylum rushed to the side of Chef immediately to treat the kid.

Asylum was an adult in perpetual child zone mentally due to a traumatic event.... he had wanted to be a doctor for his sick brother long before the event and even did the training.

Asylum used healing magic on Guardian after Chef set the child down on the admittedly ugly green couch.

Asylum started to cry. "I... I can't fix this many boo boo's..." he sniffled before puffing out his ribs and running off, then quickly returning with a box full of collectors edition graphic print bandaids.

Quickly yet methodically he plastered the child with the healing strip's. By the time he was satisfied he rocked on his knees looking up at the King. "Mama, is he gonna be okay..?" Asylum asked the king of negativity.

Nightmare snickered. He knew king was a mother hen! King sighed fondly. "He will be."The king confirmed.

The load bar finally reached its end and Guardian awoke.

He blinked his sockets before rubbing them in disbelief.

Right there... right infront of him... a distortion in the code... the octo skele spoke up. "You're safe here Dream." He was told.

Guardian tilted his skull. "Who's Dream?" He suddenly felt quite a bit of love, comfort and sadness from nowhere... he looked at the nearby mass of reminent code in suspicion.

When Dream awoke Nightmare was suprised that he had been looking right at him, although given he wasn't looking him in the socket and seemed to almost see through him he highly doubted Dream could truly perceive him...

None the less he smiled. "Dream! Brother I've missed you... so, so much, you've been alone for so long while I was asleep weren't you? I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... but we can finally talk! If you could heal Kings and it's body I'd be able to come back too... he has too much pride to ask. Your positive healing would both heal and purity the excess magic keeping us from healing... and I could finally talk to you again... how much do you even remember?" Nightmare rambled, spilling his thoughts, his feelings, his requests... his pleas... his fears.

Then king took it upon himself to speak.  "You're safe here Dream." Was what had been spoken, words of comfort and confirmation turned into the worst thing he could have said in that moment.

When Nightmare's twin confirmed his deepest fear...

"Who's Dream?" The Guardian asked. He truely did not recall himself... nightmare sobbed, but...

He could never let Dream, his only twin; suffer alone... so he opened the bond from his end for the first time since they had been newly created spirits...

He flooded it with his unwavering, unconditional brotherly love, his wish to comfort and console the other and although he desperately tried not to... his sadness had slipped in.

The glitched positive twins gaze in his direction, sockets wide in suspicion and suprise made him smile sadly.

"I could never hate you brother... I'll remember for the both of us." Nightmare spoke sending his emotions down their unique twin Guardian bond unconsciously... making orange magic and real gold tears trail the positive Guardians thin cheek bone's... nightmare hadn't noticed before... but Dream had become so thin... King could sense what Nightmare wanted to do, but knowing how... the Guardian... had reacted...

The king instead settled for throwing his own hoodie over the child to help comfort them.

Nightmare spoke one last sentence unheard by all but the king in possession of his body.

"I promise you Brother... we'll protect you... so please.. don't cry?" Purple tears slipped down the phantoms dark face. Disappearing before they ever reached the ground.
