Last Day of Work

                                    

                                          
"Good morning, Yor!", Loid caressed her hair as he woke her up. 
"Good morning, Loid-san.", she opened her eyes and sat upright on the bed to give him a kiss on his cheeks. 
"Big day today, huh?", asked Loid as he was standing near the bed. 
Yor smiled, "Yes, well, let's see."
"Hmm... me and Anya have prepared something special for you this morning... we'll wait for you at the dining table till you get fresh.", he spoke as he exited the room.

Yor got out of the bathroom, fully ready for work, with a confident smile on her face.... until....
"Wow!!! Loid-san... this is so beautiful... how did you manage to make it?", she blushed in awe after seeing a crimson heart-shaped cake with the word "Mama" inscribed on it with whipped cream. 
Loid smiled, "It wasn't just me, it was me and Anya together who made it. In fact, this was Anya's idea."
Yor walked towards Anya and hugged her, "Thank you, Anya-san. This is really beautiful.
Anya replied, "Mama is more beautiful. Anya loves Mama."
Yor hugged her even tight... to the point she was being visibly suffocated and shed tears of happiness. 
"Have a seat, Yor.", Loid suggested. 
They were all seated on the table now, like an ideal family breakfast. 
Loid put down his glass of juice and started a conversation, "So, Yor, you're sure of your decision?"
She replied, "Yes, I am sure. I have thought a lot about this and I'm sure I want to go with this."
"Couldn't be more proud of your decision, Yor.", he replied. 
Anya chimed into the conversation, "So... Mama what will you do at home when Papa and Anya are not there?"
"I'm going to make new friends and learn new things so that I can do more stuff for you both and help you both.", she replied. 
Anya was intrigued, "Anya also wants to learn new things with Mama."
Loid smiled, "Anya, but you already are learning new things everyday, at school."
Anya's face expression sulked, "Papa! But that is boring!"
"But it's still quite important to learn, Anya-san. Education can help you become successful in your life. And I really want my daughter to have a great educational background and receive the opportunities that I couldn't experience.", Yor said. 
Anya asked, "What is opportunity?"
"Opportunities are chances you get in life to either learn or do new things.", Loid said.

It was around 2:15 PM and it was break time at the City Hall. Loid, Yor and Yor's co-workers were sitting down and having lunch in the break room . 
Sharon was quite adamant on Yor not leaving the job, "Come on, Yor. What will you even do at home? I don't even get why you suddenly want to quit."
"Sharon... I've never truly gotten to experience being a wife and a mother properly.... I feel like this is a more important phase of my life and I don't want to miss out on it.", she replied. 
Loid added on, "This is why I completely support her decision. I don't want my wife to miss out any more experiences of her life... I know how her childhood was."
Millie got up from her chair and spoke, "Well, then. Since your decision is final... we won't convince you to not leave. But we aren't gonna let you leave like this either.... we're gonna have your see off party tomorrow evening.... No excuses, both of you, clear your calendars for tomorrow night."
Yor smiled, "Thank you guys.... thank you so much... but there's no need for such a gesture."
"Shut up, Yor, with all due respect. You're coming tomorrow and we're gonna have a blast. You deserve this, girl.", said Camilla. 
Yor's cheeks were glowing red, "T-T-Thank you so much, guys... I will be there tomorrow. Also... our break is ending now... can we discuss this later after work?"
Everyone nodded and got up.

Work was over and the couple was getting out of the building as it was their last day of work together and the last day of work for Yor. 
Yor turned around and saw the City Hall, "I've made good memories here... Arigatto... soshite Sayonara....", she started to tear up a little and clinged onto Loid. He patted her head held her hands. They walked back home together for one last time.

It was around midnight. Loid and Yor were both in bed... half-awake and in deep thought. 
"Loid-san.... Are you awake?", Yor whispered. 
Loid replied, "What do you think?"
She flipped over and faced his back. "I thought you were awake because... we usually sleep when either one of us is in each other's arms."
Loid also flipped back to face Yor, "So... what are you thinking?"
"During the morning, you said that you were proud of my decision. But... others are making me feel like this isn't something that I should've done.", she spoke. 
Loid got closer and kissed her cheeks, "Sorry... you were looking so cute... and I couldn't control. Now well... you're asking why I'm happy or proud that you did this... Well, it's quite simple. All of my male co-workers are married. When I hear them talk about their wives and their lives in general... I notice a certain problem which each one of them faces. Inherently, each and every man in this world wants to have a family, a proper ideal family with all members having good relationships with each other and the focus on the best possible upbringing of their child and the relationship of the husband and wife. All of the propaganda I see these days... which is actually forcing and manipulating women into contributing their lives for mineal amount, whereas, the men at the top get to enjoy everything. This is ruining the lives of children, the married men, and in fact, the women themselves, who are being manipulated to neglect their families for a false dream.... a void dream which will give them nothing but emptiness and the chance to brag to others. I'm glad that my wife... unlike others' cares about me and my family so much... I am proud of you, you, as a person. We've had our ups and downs, but there are some moments when I feel like you're the person who deserves all the happiness in the world and I'm the person who will make that possible, which I will."
She grabbed him and hugged him, "You already have.... love. And remember... I promised, I'll do anything for you and for Anya. I will cherish you and protect you, always."
