As I stood with both of my feet on the ridge of a roof inside the town where humans live, looking down from two stories above the alleys of the city. I can't help but think about the future.

Not just mine. But the future of unnumbered living. I'm more focused on others lives, and how they ultimately come to decide things from their own perspectives. Without even trying to peek on the other side of the fence. Sure most of it might be good but not all of it. Do they...even regret some? At the moment they commence a decision or order and the second they make an impact. Surely there has to be a little remorse in that certain moment.

I sighed and let alone shrugged the thoughts inside my head. I looked up and noticed something different above. Smiling, I sat carefully on the ridge. I love it when the sky makes me feel insignificant.

I like tonight.

Well... let me rephrase it.

I adore the ambiance tonight.

The chitchatting, singing ,and laughter accompanied with music probably played by them, somehow soothes me. Unfortunately for me, I heard the door in this building just shoved shut so hard. I expected to see a woman fuming mad however I saw a tall figure walking away from my direction. I didn't bother further. Whoever it is more than likely won't even notice me up here sitting on the ridge of the roof.

I sighed quietly, closed my eyes and leaned my head against the chimney beside me, irked by the fact that this peaceful introspective moment just got ripped by that loud thud.

Finally opening my eyes, I noticed the figure going in a dark alley. Curious. I had a perfect landing as I took a leap, careful and silent as I followed.

My breathing hitched as the silhouette swiftly moved towards me, leaving a few inches between us. As luck would have it, he's definitely a male. The way he stands tall screams dominance. Broad shoulders create a strong contrast to the fragile way he's holding a scroll in his hand.

I gasped when I felt the warm touch of his hand as it caresses my cheek. My breathing is getting heavier by the moment. He spoke making me tremble slightly.

"Don't go out unguarded, Princess". My eyes widened. It was a baritone voice complementing his cold demure. I feel his voice in my stomach. That's not good. Voices should stop at the ears, but somehow—not very often at all actually, a voice will penetrate past my ears and reverberate straight down through my body. He has one of those voices. Deep, confident, and a little bit like butter.

I pushed his hand away as I swiftly took the dagger carefully hidden under his coat placed beside his abdomen, holding it in a stance. The man didn't even move!

Slowly, he lifted his hood revealing his jaw dropping features. Those thick brows, olive eyes, pointy nose, kissable thin lips down to his chisled jawline.

His expression holds no shock, nor does it hold nervousness. There's enough light from the stars and moon, seeing his eyes as they slowly drag over my body without revealing a single thought. This guy holds his cards well!

"How did you know? Who are you?" The side of his lips raised forming a slight grin. My eyebrows narrowed in annoyance. Instead, he chuckled and faced the other side totally ignoring my query.

"You shouldn't wander around alone." I scoffed.

Dropping the dagger, I took my bow as it automatically opened—swiftly loading it with an arrow. My glare sharpened as I gripped on the tail of my arrow, aiming it at him.

"I won't ask again. Who are you?!" My voice raised, pulling the arrow towards me, giving it more force.

He remained calm and composed, looking up into the sky. His calmness annoyed me even more. How arrogant!  I released my arrow, leaving traces of luminous green glitters as it flew quickly into the air. However he dodged it by few centimeters. I raised my hand as my index and middle finger shut together, causing my eyes to glow greener.
