Sprout glanced at the chaotic scene around him with a heavy heart. He saw Vee's screen flickering and Shelly's distressed face, and made a decision.
"I need a break from this. I'm going to go bake something to clear my head." he said to Shelly and Vee, his tone soft but resolute.
Shelly nodded, appreciating the gesture. "Thanks, Sprout. We'll be alright here."
Sprout, with a final look of concern, left the room to join his best friend in the kitchen. The door clicked shut behind him, leaving Shelly and Vee alone amidst the aftermath of the confrontation.
Vee sat quietly, her screen still flickering and her eyes betraying the turmoil within her. Shelly hovered nearby, her anxiety giving way to a more determined focus.
She carefully examined Vee's screen and began to clean and tend to them with a gentle, practiced hand.
"Hey, Vee." Shelly said softly, trying to bridge the tense silence. "I'm really sorry about all this. It got way out of hand."
Vee looked at Shelly, her expression a mix of pain and frustration. "It's not your fault, I just.. I needed to get through to him. But this whole thing, it's just overwhelming."
Shelly nodded sympathetically. "I know, We all feel it. But fighting among ourselves isn't helping. We need to find a way to work through this, together."
Vee took a deep breath, her anger subsiding as she allowed herself to calm. "Yeah, you're right. I'm just so tired of all the secrecy and the chaos. It's like we're all spiraling out of control."
Shelly finished on cleaning the screen and gently placed a hand on Vee's shoulder. "We can't change what's happened, but we can decide how we move forward. We need to rebuild trust and focus on solving the problems we're facing."
Vee's eyes softened as she looked at Shelly. "Thanks for sticking with me. It's just hard to see everything falling apart."
Shelly gave a reassuring smile and blushed a bit. "We'll get through this, We have to."
As the two sat together in the quiet room, the tension began to ease. The sounds of Sprout and Cosmo in the kitchen were faint but comforting, a reminder of normalcy amidst the chaos.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Sprout and Cosmo busied themselves with baking, the act serving as a much-needed distraction.
The rhythmic mixing of ingredients and the pleasant smell of cookies in the oven created a sense of calm that contrasted sharply with the earlier confrontation.
Cosmo, sensing Sprout's troubled mood, tried to lighten the atmosphere. "You think they'll sort things out?"
Sprout sighed as he folded the dough. "I hope so. They're both just hurting right now. Maybe some time and space will help them see things more clearly."
