Percy POV

I looked over to Artemis, "Percy..." she started. Her face frozen in shock, "your eyes–they're gold..."

I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out. The world started spiraling downward, slowly darkening. The last thing I saw was a pair of silver eyes. Then it turned to black.

And here I awoke, in a dimly lit room with someone sitting in a chair. He was out of the light, the only thing that I could see was a piercing pair of golden eyes. "Grandson." The voice called out.

Chills were sent down my spine. "Kronos." I replied looking back at him. I reached down to my pocket and uncapped Riptide. I summoned my armor, the silver glow being emitted from the armor lit the room very slightly, only for it to dissipate in the darkness.

"I am not here to fight..." His deep voice rumbled through the room. "I am here to thank you."

"What?" I asked, my arm falling to my side

"Mother had a plan..." He said, leaning farther into the light. His face was very dimly lit; however you could clearly make out his features. "If the Giants failed..." He continued, taking a breath and he began again, "She controls the pit."

"How?" I questioned inching closer to Kronos in anticipation.

"Tartarus faded millennia ago. He still comes and terrorizes the pit for those inside, however Gaia absorbed most of his essence."

"I see..." I looked at him shakily, "what's the plan?"

He shuddered at the thought, "She is essentially two primordials. You killed the first one, now kill the second and make her fade. She will release monsters, reform my brethren, and there is nothing that I could do to make her stop. She wishes to attack in seven months from today..."

"Is there anything else you know?" I asked hoping the answer would be yes

"There is one thing." He said mysteriously. I looked at him once again before he finished, "I went to confronter her, she attacked me. Now I am beginning to fade. The last thing she said before attacking me was that 'Perseus Jackson is the only one that can kill me. He did it once, he won't get away with it this time.' There is something I must give you grandson. When I met Anake millennia ago she spilled fate. Saying the only person who will be able to stop Gaia will have exceptional control over time. As my last act in the living world, I shall give you the ability to control time."

He raised his hands into the light. A bright golden light illuminated the room. It moved straight into my chest. I felt a small pain before it subsided. "Thank you." I nodded in his direction

"It was an honor to know you grandson. I wish you luck in your battle."

I looked on as Kronos slowly faded into nothing. Soon the room began to fade too.

Cracking my eyes open, a blinding golden light seemed to come from all directions. I muttered a prayer to Apollo.

The golden light got even brighter for a moment before subsiding.I opened my eyes again. Light coming in from all directions. The room slowly became more clear as my eyes adjusted to the light.

"Percy!" Apollo called down to me as he was standing at the foot of my bed. "Your eyes..."

"My eyes?!" I shouted in alarm. Panicking, I jumped up from my bed. I frantically looked around the room for a mirror.

"Stop!" Apollo commanded. I froze where I stood and looked at him. "Your face!" He laughed out, tears welling up as he held his stomach wheezing. "Here you go." He handed me a mirror.
